Braided Rivers
Germany-based photographer Kevin Krautgartner shares beautiful shots of the glaciers and ice caps of Iceland. When the flow of the rivers subsides, sediment settles on the river bed, leaving behind small temporary islands of dark volcanic sand that cause the channels of the rivers to split. The always changing rivers systems can be several kilometers wide so it is only possible to see these patterns from an aerial perspective.
Apocalypse whenever, Mothmeister
Leave the lights on, Ian Strange
Fallen Sky NYC-based artist Sarah Sze has created a new installation that is comprised of 132 unique pieces of stainless steel within a fragmented circle. The mirrored pieces reflect the landscape around it, which shift depending on the time of day and lighting.
