Here's a dump of all the art i'm not too afraid to show anyone that's been done in the past two years, maybe. a lot of it feels dated, but a lot of it i'm still proud of, and hopefully not unreasonably so. They were all done in varying amounts of time, in varying dimensions and varying mediums (Oil, digital, acrylic, or a mixture of those) this is to hopefully use this blog as an updated portfolio, and i hope to keep expanding it with artistic ventures during this winter. All these images are copyrighted to Gustavo Figueiredo (me) A couple of friends lent their images so that i could portray them, and for that i'm thankful.

Challenge day 9: Your favorite cartoon character. Oil. This is only half of this challenge as i'm working on another one. but this is the duke of flies from the fantastic binding of isaac. It's only about five inches squared but i managed to pack in all the detail that i wanted. i need to start painting thicker though i think. again, awful picture. i'll scan them and reupload them once the challenge is complete and this becomes an actual portfolio.

Day 7: your family or family member. Oil on Aluminum.

Picture does not do the piece justice, once again, haha. I realize a lot of the mistakes, like shape of the head, and how the eyes are uneven. One could be fixed easily, but i feel like the eyes actually add to the characterization. It's weird, if you block one eye, it's more anatomically correct, where as the other she seems happier, and that combined give her exactly the expression i was looking for. This was alla prima so it was very sloppy but very fun. i might frame it on something stable and when i do i'll fix the shape thing and a few brush slip-ups as well as add a decent picture. My mom was the model and i feel like i got to know her all over again. This was painted on the inside of can of iced tea.

Challenge Day 4: An animal you think is really cute. Pencil.

This took really long and the picture does not at all do the piece justice. maybe i'll get around to scanning it and have a better image up eventually. Yeah. Fifi, my friend's dog who is an adorable spawn of satan. not much to say. onto the next one.
