I run a creative writing group on my campus. This summer I have two dedicated students showing up every two weeks. Last night, one of them brought a friend who told the person who submitted a story that night, “This sh** would blow up on Tumblr”

Grey’s Anatomy makes excellent background TV for grading.

McSteamy is working at the hospital. Meredith is having appendicitis. Callie has broken up with George. And that patient lit a cigarette next to his oxygen feed and just set himself on fire.

I kind of love this episode particularly when Meredith is wacked out on morphine.

Finishing a novel: packing it all away

When I'm working on a novel, it is my number one project, my primary drive, my marathon race. Over that time frame, two things happen:

One of the things I have noticed in my travels is that I am not the only one who has decided to ditch streaming on planes.

Found this little train case at Marshall’s and it holds all my toiletries AND my makeup.

Today is my final lecture day for the semester. My take aways to the students were:

* Proper nouns are always capitalized

* Stop using the word unique

* TV is an abbreviation when means it must be capitalized.

* If you worked in a strong group with good people who showed up to complete assignments, keep that group chat live. These are the people who you can call on if you need help down the line.
