Back when @kenny.k24 was diagnosed with colon cancer in mid/late 2018, the doctors told him and my folks to tell me to get a colonoscopy too even though it isn’t hereditary. It’s unheard of to even think about getting one so early. Usually it is around 40. But that was in the past. Things have changed. Cancer is more aggressive than ever. Kenny was 31 (turns 32 August 2) and was diagnosed at 29. I kept putting it off even though everyone around me was telling me I need to set it up. Kept coming up with every excuse in the book as to why I can’t. Honestly, I was scared (still am). Now that he’s gone, I saw how much in pain my parents have been in (me included). I called yesterday to set up my colon screening for May 4 to make sure I am good. I didn’t do it for me. I did it for my parents because I do not want them to go through this again. I say all this to pass awareness to everybody. I would not wait to get a colonoscopy. I would get ASAP!! (MEN AND WOMEN) If we could’ve caught Kenny’s sooner before it was in stage 4, he would still be here. Please share this, tag people that need to see it. I want to reach/help people as much I can. Cancer isn’t going anywhere. All we can do prepare our bodies to fight against if/when it comes. Lastly, I want to really thank everybody for checking on me, calling/texting/messaging. Some have told me some funny stories about him that made me smile and laugh. Definitely need a lot of that as this won’t get any easier for awhile.
