Obama Takes Executive Action To Protect Alaska’s Coastline Forever

On Tuesday, President Obama announced he was withdrawing a pristine and ecologically rich region of Alaska from any future oil and gas development. Using section 12 of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, Obama signed a memorandum removing Bristol Bay, a 52,000-square-mile area off Alaska’s southwest coast, in order to “take it off of the bidders block and make sure it is preserved for the future.”

In announcing the move, Obama also called Bristol Bay one of American’s greatest natural resources and “a natural economic engine.” Bristol Bay is the world’s biggest sockeye salmon fishery and provides 40 percent of America’s seafood as part of its annual $2 billion commercial fishing industry, according to the White House.

The White House announcement also stated that the region, otherwise known as the North Aleutian Basin Planning Area, provides habitat for a diverse array of marine species, including sea otters, seals, walruses, Beluga and Killer whales. It is also an important site for Native Americans who have lived there for generations.

Lisa Murkowski, a Republican Senator from Alaska, told the Los Angeles Times she did not object to Obama’s decision “given the lack of interest by industry and the public divide over allowing oil and gas exploration in this area.”

Elephant poaching and ivory sales

It was rather asinine to destroy already "harvested" elephant horns because this, logically, will not curb but rather promote the industry. If there is a product with an external value then a human will undermine its essence and sell it materially. Poachers must realize the harm they cause beyond another death before the industry ceases but this requires due diligence. Conservationists must utilize social media and gear US ALL towards what-ever you wish to call it; grass-roots, green revolution, holism..Instill appreciation since we see defecation and malicious-ness. We all will be facing difficult scenarios and sacrificing much and history will be our guide so long as to the world you abide.

Ebola and Ethics

To the Ethicists deliberating Ebola,

Thank you for your passion in these matters and I’d like to be among you all for these circumstances are not easy and do need to be shared. Lives are, and were/will be, at stake. Safety is supposed to be our concern but if we observe parts of the World, they lack Health and Organization. But We can ask. Those who’ve contracted imagine options and consequences and remedies. I have read about this experimental drug somewhat and that option is like, “what does S/He have to lose”? What will We gain? Science has another record, drug or not, and we may have lost a life. But I feel you all understand with that “loss” there is significant gain IFF not embalmed. I disagree with caskets except for wakes, consequently we would save wood! Ask them about death too. Experimental drugs are great, especially when fully effective no last effects, but so is preservation of life. If there is much concern with out-break, then necessary precautions* are taken. Re-marking the UK donation, five million I read, THANK YOU!!!  Hygiene is vital for propagation and happiness and I believe infrastructure is important. So is population. Necessities are precautions yet the body is susceptible. Food, hygiene, water, company because a healthy mind is desirable. US has shown mishaps wrt to infrastructure but we are able to, nevertheless, support a great deal of people in environments that cannot, geographically, support that number; LA, NY. These cities confine citizens increasing likelihoods of severe out-break. Quarantining cities is rather intimidating/scary but unnerving certainly, so is killing another. But We can seek forgiveness. If the vaccine does not work, the patient can forgive but will they? Also, does a live host help/enable/feed the virus potentially influencing mutation or evolution? Or dead?  *We need honest neighbors but preferably concerned citizens. Run the tests and isolate positives. Identify hazards justly and appropriately, obviously?, and treat the person with respect, hence why we ask!

Certifying Citizens

People are feeling much over this current (10-7-14) immigration issue. Children are coming by the thousands, among others. Not enough are leaving, immigrants or not, and the US cannot yet support them. Allow citizens to adopt another, or more but no more than three unless confirmed shared responsibilities between neighbors because this seems like it will take villages to raise some of these youth. We may note that some families have or even make trouble under roof let alone begin to think to raise another. But this is Life and Death for us all and even if you don't overtly pay to support them, you could have a say that may pave way to make more than their day, but their life. Their innate liberty and a pursuit to nourishment. They left for reasons seeking a certain kind of hope, a new change and America as a country offers that, basically. We have the ideas and resources, somewhat, to enable a balanced lifestyle so dwell upon taxes and communal support and their implications. 

Immigration creates jobs. Certify citizens to hasten peoples' applications and get them to become citizens because the US government needs them. There could a condition that once an established citizen that it would be helpful to vacation for a period because this offers chance to procure rent and enjoy your time elsewhere! Vocations can become over-bearing so to balance this we seek Vacations. The US is a great place to vacation but the world has its spots, as you know. Go explore and invest, divest but really express and impress for those two actions are like your story.

A Growing Market

There is some dis-satisfaction with less than five percent growth from India. Never mind other countries data even though we seem in competition over economic expansion.

Primarily, appreciate the growth. It may seem hard given what you know, or project, but note it and have faith it is legitimate. 

Secondarily, do not rely on manufacturing since that consumes arable land. 

Thirdly, offer incentives. Since you will present a GST the people could be presented with an opportunity to offset some of these taxes while benefiting personally. Figure man-power coupled with solar to charge/power generators running a desirable effect; cool, heat, or wind. Swamp coolers or air conditioners, heating coils, or fans. 

Why? 

Do you want economic growth? For the people? or the country? Enable them if the former by presenting opportunities for personal growth. With respect to the latter...it doesn't need economic growth but, similarly, personal growth. It is sensitive and requires specific conditions, one of which you wish to be a monsoon. The country will last without water, in a sense, but many will not.

There is talk of a weather machine and that may be neat or cool or powerful but it costs more than it is worth. We affect the climate essentially through breath but macroscopically through sprawl and a reduction in communal contribution. What matters is nearly microscopic coupled with our intelligence and  I would appreciate further discussion on this because this idea is vast and requires input.

One Object, Infinite Values

Why seek a split?

Resource management, perhaps. Inefficient bureaucracies or maybe something new. But it will definitely be more and it seems many citizens or states have difficulty in dealing, or leading, with what we already own. There was a great debate decades ago between the Preservationists and Conservationists  and this struggle still exists today. We must manipulate but only when, ideally!, when we note suffering. We extinguish fires and level forests, not remembering what supports it all. This cycle requires mass destruction however we are not proving our intelligence because we prove to be efficient consumers and ineffective producers. If WE were effective producers, there would be little debate towards global warming or cooling and the climate will always change so keep your own records and cite the wise ones (elderly!). Patterns evolve and grow, or shrink, depending on the flow of time. Is it this State's pattern to divide, multiply, add or subtract?

Surely no one would want to subtract from this magnificent State yet its citizenry detracts from her through their actions. Really, we do want to subtract some things; invasive plants and aggressive/non-native species but also criminals or parasites. A thing that consumes more than it produces will cause imbalance and therefore a chance for patterns to evolve. With a subtraction we leave space for an addition for removing a thing from a place enables another thing to occupy it. 

Obviously one would add something good to their life if able. Can One add to the State? Absolutely. But please, understand the consequences because WE are ALL dealing with an equation. With the addition of a bush or tree or house; we eliminate or initiate opportunities. Chances for wonderful coincidences or horrific ones. Our thoughts contribute to the whole world, numerous perspectives entangling themselves in a play of dreams. Searching something to add? Add a value. Your moral character is an addition. But that was never enough. Aside from your personal value, they want your property value. In case you ascertained debt which happens through division. 

Really, our division comes through possessions since insurance. In case of fire or flood, objects may be under warranty or subject to reimburse for they are aspects of our lives enabling convenience, not bad. But these extensions bear a separate value in addition to your attachment. One object, two values. Good luck. Also, I feel the White House is a current symbol of division seeing as how it is a point, and the fence a kind of line and the observer outside the fence. A line between two points. Not cool. 

Truly, it is about a seed and thus multiplication. Propagation is designed into life. Few things seem to consume without re-producing but a point to many lives is procreation. Spread thy seed and away it goes, some times accompanied by parents, others guardians. Offspring can be insured, by humans, but assured by the world; ushered into it through a primitive desire. Your DNA is now entombed with another, accepted into history as your consequences because responsibility is shared among peers. It may take a village to raise a new-born however it definitely takes resources. Therefore be wise with decisions and conscious of implications.

Fort Hood

Memories are astounding and confounding for there are no where and matter so much. What if We kept it silent with respect to national news. Victims and their families commit to a news station upon their choosing and because it is a National Base, it merits attention. Valuable and Worthwhile attention because we do not want to seem weak, especially from within. Mail people who want to know, who care to know. email them but maybe another nation hacks them or whatever. People who challenge in such an extravagant and bizarre manner require delicate attention before they snap because they do not deserve the news. Neighbors suffer and families struggle as laws and money are transposed. Others commit actions to scar, to mean harm and they deserve less, but their condition noted, and passed on. Permit the families to choose to make the story national because it is not everyone's business, unless you believe the premise that Since Soldiers are paid via tax dollars produced by WE THE PEOPLE who give and take from the Market, and the Market pretty much means business then yes, tax dollars were lost and many more provided as Agencies become involved and investigate, because few paid attention and responded appropriately earlier, to let US know "what happened". Another Shooting Suspect. Damn. School? better but the SAME BASE! yikes, what happened...again? One of Franklin's Virtues is Silence and in these cases, it may be appropriate.

Governmental interference

Recently Putin chose to ban or remove from circulation specific media outlets that may choose to write in opposition to the Regime. Censorship, really, SHOULD only be done by an individual, with respect. Ask and ye shall receive, seek guidance for relief. We possess an immense strength once we remember how to embrace it. Values have eroded and our infrastructure somewhat corroded because the collective WE is currently unable to focus upon ONE issue/symptom or problem/debacle. Communities discuss which one or three, perhaps five if the leaders are courageous, issues or symptoms... Much effort will be needed and sacrifice will befall many but together everyone achieves more. Soil will be moved and tents erected, deals made and contracts sealed yet will we ALL remain trustworthy?  Currently, Israel and Palestine are discussing various things as Kerry mentions other stuff (read it?). Some of which suggests neither these countries trust the other to commit to a settlement likely because settling isn't always appeasing. If my debts were put on hold I would join you in your discussion and begin learning the language, perhaps bringing some friends in...no more than five. These talks are delicate and last days. Your issue is severe but so is terrorism, domestic or foreign or cyber. A global economy needs you both to do more than compromise and that is.to understand and progress.  More to follow but keep well

Initial thoughts upon Cannabis S.

Were I to "tell" you, initially, something it could be, stop referring to Marijuana as "weed".  I learned from a wise farmer that a any weed is an undesirable plant. Convenient for us since we are creators. Those who want Hemp or Cannabis legalized nought call or name it as weed because, likely to them or others, it is a desirable plant. (We can discuss its desirability later if you'd like).  Since We are becoming technical a convenient term is MJ or CS or the like. Plants are important and we can try to remember to what end however medicinal seems legitimate, and recreation...tests/exposure(public)/investments-expenditures, (invasion!) does it matter? Operating a motor vehicle under any influence can be too specific (coffee or sugar but emotions absolutely) however, simply, to be impaired is to, potentially, negate your traffic test? One cannot be tested per strain of MJ, too costly Honesty and statistics will show us.  Growing these pairs, separately, can restore soil and cool citizens and heighten organic produce but also contribute a billion dollars. Worms, clothes, rope, seed, body products, are the essentials since they transform our feces and produce a "tea". Attire that regulates temperature and is durable. To make swings or hammocks or supply shipyards. For chickens then their eggs or our diet for a protein "supplement", more like an additive. Body wash or skin care. War, really

Instead of fighting brutally, we fight intellectually. Life is about advancement and progression so we must therefore acquire in order to succeed. Occasionally a person leads a group into taking from others and this may be expounded upon (retribution and vengeance and armies and weapons and tactics and deception and spying) since we possess intellect. Leaders of a country, essentially, ought not fight over resources or ideologies since this seems immature. We could vie over territories because we imagine space differently (preservation vs. conservation...). Host a "battle of minds" of sorts: bring sociologists or psychologists/mentalists and geologists and philosophers and more!  Ultimately there could be no war, when we choose it. We do not have to attack though we may have to defend since people occasionally offend, though not always intentionally.  War brings weapons and technological advancements that can be deemed unwarranted. There are facts that show proof that some Nations do not seek peace or tranquility or ultimate cease-fire. Sometimes it is not a Nation but Faction. How we deal with (hidden) Factions is difficult but not impossible. Probability decreases as citizens remain fearful and insecure. Disabled from the fight because of weapons and passion, families are wrought with anguish and terror.  Settling differences by accepting them is a major step in restoring Faith.

Capital Punishment (cp)

We've come to understand that people will kill. When One kills another, without permission, this seems incorrect. Wrong or even immoral. Retribution is what many seek when justice is discussed but how can one achieve it? We assume in all cases the murderer is KNOWN and the evidence IRREFUTABLE.  A family or friend may debate and create an argument as to why THEY could be the one to capitally punish the offender. A killer offends more than one when a person has established healthy/wealthy bonds among diverse communities. If a member of the deceased's circles chooses vengeance, one might suggest an exam of sorts or forms. Permit them to commit such an act will be up to a Judge, hopefully one of impartiality.  The Elements may consume the life of a killer, or the wild (different assortment of elements which include sharks and bears and the like). Heat seems cruel; a desert or similar.  Cold can be slow and torturous however a sleep aid may induce a calmer transition.  Volcano if we want a show; go-pro cameras and "volunteer" inmates. Some may choose an epic death especially because it becomes a choice, not a scapegoat. Before this show conversations will be held with appropriate individuals.  Water or Soil: Towers are constructed and rooms face some form of nature (desert, forest, tundra, ocean...) for this is tranquility and time for reflection. (Penitentiary from penance; that which we pay as retribution for our crimes) If a criminal is unable to cope with their crime they take a leap of faith and let the world decide. If an inmate succeeds in either not falling or injuring themselves upon the fall, perhaps they become an out-mate. TBD. (If at a bay or in the ocean, would it not be punny to judge their execution when they make the dive?! Crude humor but ideally there are no criminals to judge. Heck, leave judgment out until it is sought.) (seemingly immoral) hunting: Prisoners may be purchased and hunted for the thrill or used to fight wars; i.e. ONLY use inmates and criminals to fight brutally. (ugh)
