“Well, then I think you should expand your idea of a vision because I look terribly good today and the ice cream only adds to the allure.” She sniffed a little indignantly, but her voice was softer as she asked her next question, “You alright?” Considering how unfamiliar with one another as they were it was overstepping to ask something and expect an answer, but he seemed off and she couldn’t help but ask.
Severus snorted. “Your appearance is only determined by those who see you, not you yourself.” He’d be damn if some girl could decide that she herself was beautiful while he was left to bathe in the scorn of his peers. “I thought ice cream was more.... for children. “ He shrugged, brushing off the fact that he was being a complete prick to this girl for absolutely no reason.
“I’m fine.” But even as he said the words he could see the shaking in his hands and feel the clamminess of his own skin. Of course Severus Snape was not fine. He was caught in a web that seemed more impossible very day to untangle. He took a drag from his cigarette and flipped his hair backwards, trying to keep it together.
