Threaded between the fabric of realities, you can find UNREALITIES, places that can only exist if you know exactly where to look. THE FOREST OF ARAIN is one such place. A place where magick beings can go for sanctuary. However, when Hans and Greta, a couple of curious scientists began to settle in the forest, everything changed. The BALANCE of magick in the forest has shifted and on the day of the ECLIPSE the border cairns, or BREADCRUMBS that allowed beings in and out, malfunctioned in a way that trapped all beings inside of the forest. Others may arrive, but none may leave.

HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH || Revamp

This day seems to come when you least expect it and even the Forest of Arain cannot escape its clutches. When the clock struck midnight on Friday the 13th, all inhabitants of the forest found themselves frozen in time and space, unable to move. Though time moves on, they do not. No one knows why this may have occurred, but many suspect that it involves the Equinox, others blame a careless Enchanter, but few know the truth of an experiment gone horribly wrong in the Grimm Research Facility. 

The time has come for a revamp! The main page as well as the story line is on pause, but those that are writing are more than welcome to continue doing so with their existing threads. We are not changing anything major with our groups, but we will be doing some housekeeping with our bios, graphics, promos, and pages. Those that still have their characters are more than welcome to keep them. We’ve already heard from several members and know that we will have at least 20 characters when we resume. During this pause, any applications that we receive will still be accepted on a rolling basis as usual, but new threads will not begin until the pause is over. Please, be patient with the administration during this time and we will do our very best to keep you informed. We will also be posting a revamp F.A.Q. this weekend to hopefully answer any expected questions that we might receive.

HAPPY TMI TUESDAY!

TMI Tuesday is a way to give members the opportunity to explore their characters in a way that does not move the plot forward. We will be offering this every Tuesday to help with character development. All questions should be sent on ANONYMOUS, so be sure to adjust your settings on your blogs to allow anonymous messages. Oooh! Both of those are on my personal FC wish list for this group. However, I cannot see them working for the same character, so I’ll list them separately.

I've been rping for 3 years but always just did one rp group. I'm considering on playing on this one but I'm not sure how to handle, do you have any tips on joining?

With writing in two groups at once, I always found it helpful to sort of alternate my attention. You could do this by either alternating character replies or, if you find it easier to stay in the zone, you can give yourself an hour on one group and an hour on the other. Some people find it helpful by writing characters that are totally different while others find it helpful to have characters with something in common.

When it comes to joining our group, I definitely suggest choosing a character that you really feel a connection with and thinking about their motives and ways that you can work them towards those goals.

In references to the “clique” anon. That was merely one person’s experience. I encourage open communication in the group and no members have expressed concerns of a clique to the admin team. I have noticed that there are some that get really excited about writing with each other, but all of those writers eagerly post in the thread requests server which anyone can utilize to gain threads. However, I definitely understand what it’s like in having reservations about a new group. The characters most wanted by our members at the moment are the following:

Final!!! Apart from the boredom what would you say is Abra and Dhivitis reason for a party? Are they not scared from attacks of humans or vampires or others?

Dhviti is a very social being and believes that a party is a good way to build rapport with other species groups as well as solitary beings in the forest. Some may be hesitant due to the looming threat in the forest, but Dhviti is of the mind that you can’t waste life worrying about what could happen when you can be living life instead.

Do people in the masks get to know one another or is it their decision to mask and tell?

Considering that the mask only covers the face, it’s likely that many of them will recognize each other, but it is the writer’s decision on how they would like to handle these interactions.

Is this rp pretty active?

Activity has dipped with it being finals time as well as a larger holiday, but the dash is still moving and we have no intentions of going anywhere. Our ooc chat has also been slower than usual, but it has picked up with weekend with plotting for our current event.

Hi! Is this a plot rp, or more of a supernatural town based rp where its more character driven than settings plot driven? How long has the group been open and what movements have happened that can be taken as a goal towards supposed antagonists?

Hello! It is actually a bit of a combination. There are some plots that impact the entire forest, but much of it is based on individual developments. The group has been open for interactions since October 22 of last year. So far, our two bigger plot movements include the entrance of merfolk to the forest as well as the vampires entrance and following alliance with the humans. Most recently, we’ve included a new group of fae that will likely cause problems for the existing fae alliance. We would like to move in the direction of the humans developing stronger technology against the magicks and hope to have more humans soon so that we can have more writers involved in doing that.

Some plots that we’ve had that impacted the whole forest, but did not really move the plot forward include the supernatural virus, the krampus, the ice maze, and most recently the lucky/unlucky shamrocks.

THE MASQUERADE OF FOOLS

Dhviti Bhatia has grown bored with the forest and has somehow managed to bribe her sister, Abra, into hosting a forest-wide masquerade party. In the spirit of April Fool’s, a table of magicked masks will be at the entrance to the cabin. Enchanted by a group spell, these masks have unique properties. While wearing a mask, partygoers will find that they feel less and less like themselves. While they might look the same, their biology will gradually shift to that of another species. Mask wearers will notice that they are not able to remove their masks until sunrise. Additional information can be found below the cut.

This even begins NOW and will end Friday, April 7. However, all posts should be considered to have taken place on the night of April 1st.

If you choose for your character to become a fae, please specify what sort of magick you’d like them to have. Since any species will be new to your character, their magick will not be strong and they will be out of control.
