We’re coming to the end of Fat Bear Week! Katmai’s brown bears are getting ready to hibernate, during which time they can lose up to 33% of their body weight. They feasted on salmon earlier this summer as the fish returned to spawn. Now the salmon are nearing the end of their life cycle, providing another easy meal and vital nutrients so the bears can survive the winter.

what’s your favorite au?

depends on the fandom/characters

i’ve always been a sucker for academic aus (college/uni AU) but i often feel like they’re done poorly so i don’t always read/engage with them

Overall though, i always love when people do modern AUs but in a specific time period like the 70s, 80s, or the 2000s since I LOVE music and fashion from those times :p

honestly i like any AU where the creator has clearly put a lot of effort into world building/researching the time period. I remember way back in ye olden days I was writing a boarding school AU and i spent so much time planning out what the standard class schedule was, realistically how much homework and studying each character had to do, alongside learning the geography of city i had the characters and what music and technology was around/would be present in these characters everyday life and it was sooooooo much fun and made me enjoy writing the au so much more. I like to see 🤩passion🤩 in people’s writing/art. :3

what’s your favorite fictional dynamic?

uhhhhhh, moral grey age gap relationships both romantic and platonic. Like a morally grey parent figure and orphaned/mentally ill child, or on the romantic end a mentally ill young man (above the age of 18) trying to court/get with a very suppressed/internally homophobic older man.
