3 New Maps

Americanish Ball

This map is inspired by American football, but the rules are still following Breaking Ball football. The biggest change is the ball collision that is a Capsule istead of a Circle, which changes the gameplay physics a lot.

Beach football

A beach styled map with sand as the ground and a Volley Ball as the ball. Beach Football is the perfect map to challenge your friends throughout the summer.

Beach Volley

Another beach styled map but the big difference is that the game is now a Volley game, which means you have a net in the middle, and if the ball hit the ground on your side you lose a point. The map is currently in a very early state, improvements will come in following updates.

New Game Rules

Added a new game rule that allows you to play to a certain number of goals instead of timed matches.

Menus

Players can now switch between Timed or Goalscorer Game rules

Added new improved layout to the menu screen

Added new map previews for every map

Other improvements

The game now saves your custom player names when starting a new match

Bug fixes

Fixed players are unable to increase and decrease match length in menues

Fixed horizontal controls not working in menu with Controller

Returning to Breaking Ball

After a few months break with other side projects as: https://lemanshack.com it is time continue the work on Breaking Ball. As you may know Breaking Ball is only a two man project, and our design and development motivation comes from pure creativity and fun. Right know we have so many ideas, but the key is to focus and keep it simple, it is important for os to get all the small wins out of this project and thats why we must not try to make something too overwhelming. Anyway we'll be releasing a summer update for the game soon, stay tuned.

Controller support

Controller support is added to menus and gameplay

Controls can be customized before starting the game

Note that the controller support is only tested on PS4 controllers in this release.

Other control improvements

The game can now also be controlled without a mouse. To navigate the menus with keyboard use: W,A,S,D or Up, Left, Down, Right.

Player animations

Hi Breakers!

We have talked about player animations in a long time and we knew it would be pretty time consuming, but now is the time to show you a little preview of what we have been up to since the last release.

You can expiernce the new player animations by your self in the next version of Breaking Ball. We're releasing the next version this week before Christmas.

Breaking Ball Version 0.1.8

New Level

New Underwater level added to the game. The old Wonderland level is updated with minor changes.

New Gameplay

You can now pick up the ball by pressing "Down Arrow" or "S" when standing on the ball.

New Animations

Sprite animations added to the ball when scoring. We are slowly beginning to add sprite animations to the players. Play as the frog on the Underwater level if you want to try it out.

New level - Underwater

We are almost ready to release a new level. This level is taking place Underwater. The details and graphics are much improved. We’re for the first time using lighting, animation and even physics objects in a level. Stay tuned for the next version of Breaking Ball releasing this weekend.

Earlier this week we got the opportunity to present Breaking Ball to developers in our local community https://www.meetup.com/CODE-Odense/ – People were excited when they tried the game for the first time.

Minor update to the first release

This update fixes a game breaking bug and adds minor changes to the gameplay.

Bugfix

Fixed bug causing the game menus not to work on lower resoulution screens.

Increased default player speed to make the game a bit faster

Breaking Ball 2D Soccer Game

Welcome to the very first official words about Breaking Ball.

A game that is inspired by one of our childhood favorites called Slime Soccer. In case you don't remember Slime Soccer take a look at the image below.

Development

At the moment the game is only a side project which means that all our design and development is done in the late night hours, but that also means that you'll get the game for free.

Gameplay

The game is pretty simple if you ever have played Pong you properly already know the rules. Score goals by putting the ball in the back of your opponent's goal while you're trying to defend your own.

Upcoming early release

The game is in a very early stage but you can experience the lastest build of the game soon. In fact we are very close to releasing the first stable version of the game. We want to stay motivated and involve your feedback while continuing the development of the game and thats why we always believe in giving you the latest version.
