At the mention of having something similar, Fawn pressed a hand to her heart and gasped overdramatically, “Oh! I can already feel myself being pulled away from my love of coffee. How could you?” She then laughed and stood straight once more. “Yeah, it’s something I think I was born to do, but it’s not for everyone. One guy passed out on day one of class when we were shown pictures to make sure this is what we wanted to do.”

He chuckled at her reaction. "Its not going to have as much caffeine so if that is what you're looking for I can't help there. But I think I have something close enough in taste." Maddox nodded and smiled. "Well luckily we have people like you. Otherwise the animals wouldn't get good help. A guy passed out. Wow, bet that was embarrassing. I don't think I'd be that bad, at least I'd hope not."

“Discount tea would be nice. I’m sure there’s tea that’s good for pregnant women. Helps…fertilize the baby or whatever.” he put a finger on his lips, thinking “I’d open up a pregnant ladies night at Wonderland, but I don’t know if that’s really the right scene for that.” he chuckled “Maybe I’ll get a bunch of children’s music artists to come in or something?”

"Help fertilize? The baby is already fertilized once it becomes a baby. " he said, chuckling. "Yeah they couldn't have alcohol and really loud music probably isn't the best either. Maybe that could work." He said with a shrug. "You could definitely put it out there and see if there is interest."

She nodded as he described why he named the store what he did. Maddox seemed like an actually good guy. Fawn pressed a finger to her lips, “Then, that’s our secret to keep from coffee together, deal? Especially if you have a tea that’s like a caramel macchiato.” At the comment on her name, she laughed, “Yeah, you don’t hear it every day until you’re in vet school or work with dogs.”

“Sounds good.  I’m pretty good at secrets.” He said with a smile.  “Mmm I think I may have something fairly similar.  You’ll have to try it and let me know.” Maddox said, figuring if he didn’t have something already that tasted like that, he could mix something up for her.  He loved how versatile tea was.  “Oh is that what you do?  I thought about doing the whole vet thing briefly, but then I realized I couldn’t stand to see those animals hurt and it would be hard to do my job.  Probably be bad at being a people doctor too.  I’d rather heal people with tea.”

“Don’t worry, Mads. You’re figure is impeccable.”  He chuckled with a smirk “Damn. All that for a baby? We should start a parade for women. or a march or something. We’ll call it the Women’s March…..wait…that’s a thing already, isn’t it?”

“Aww thanks Cash.  I appreciate that.” He smiled.  Maddox didn’t really have any real issues with his body, but he didn’t think he would call his figure impeccable.  “Yes, it’s seriously crazy.”  He laughed and nodded.  “I’m pretty sure that is already a thing yes, but some pro women, especially pro pregnant women appreciation might be nice.  Maybe discount tea for pregnant women?”  He mused, trying to think of a way to give back.

Maddox: I think you'll be fine too. Plus you'll have Thomas to protect you.

Alice: oh you meant for the date! we're going to two movies (annabelle and midsommar) and then going back to my place for dinner. are horror movies okay for pregnant women?

Alice: and yes lips kiss. a big lip kiss. like in a movie or something when people get reunited

Maddox: Why are you crying? Tears of joy?

Maddox: Isn't Annabelle about that scary doll thing? I don't see why they would be bad for pregnant women, unless they put like a lot of stress on your body?

Maddox: Aww how romantic. I still need to meet this guy, but I'm really happy for you. I'm just going to live vicariously through you. Well except for the whole baby thing. No offense.

Alice: i kissed thomas and we have a date next week

“Oh, that’s… Actually adorable,” she smiled. “I will one hundred percent have to come check you guys out because tea is one of my favorite things to unwind with… Just don’t tell coffee I cheat on it sometimes,” Fawn joked. After he introduced himself, she offered out a hand, “Yes, well, I think they were taking the easy way out with me being the Young baby. Maddox is a pretty cool name too, and you definitely don’t want to be there.”

“Yeah I thought it was a pretty cool name and I’m all about trying to make people happy, so I felt it worked.”  He said with a grin.  “I can’t stand coffee, so I’m perfectly ok with you cheating on it with tea.” Maddox said, shaking her hand.  “Well regardless I like it.  It’s also a name you don’t hear everyday.” He pointed out.  “I knew it.  I can sometimes sense these things”

“Maybe only a week or so.” he chuckled, handing him back the book. “Considering I slept through all of health class before I dropped out, no. I have no idea what goes on while women are pregnant but I have full faith that its some trippy shit. i mean, growing a human is next level.”

"Well that's good. I was worried about my figure." He joked, putting a hand on his hip as if striking a pose. "Right? Like women really need more credit or appreciation. You can't have alcohol or caffeine or sushi. There's a lot of restrictions and you have to deal with all that shit for nine months. Its intense." He said, shaking his head. "Super thankful I can't get pregnant."

“A tea shop?” She was intrigued. Fawn had always wanted to try specialty teas, and ordering offline didn’t seem right. “It’s sweet that you consider all of your customer’s though. I mean, you would hope all businessmen would do that, but sometimes the dollar signs of capitalism come before anything else.” She shrugged it off with a small smile, “I’m Fawn, by the way. Don’t make me regret not calling you a corrupt businessman by making a pregnant pyramid scheme later, ‘kay?”

"Yep. It's called Positivitea with t e a at the end."  He said with a smile and a nod. It was always good to talk about the shop, most of their business was word of mouth after all. "Yeah it's not about money at all for me and Harris. Well it's a little about money because we have to pay rent and need money to live, but I'm not looking to get rich." He replied, trying to explain. "Fawn? That's a really pretty name. Reminds me of nature." Maddox smiled. "I'm Maddox and definitely won't something tells me I don't want to be on your bad side." He chuckled

She furrowed her brow as his explanation continued, but it was deemed worthy enough as she handed it back. “Is your partner expecting or something?– Gosh, I’m being too intrusive. It’s none of my business.” Fawn knew it was a personal question to ask, but she was curious. “Oh, I know… Are you about to start a pyramid scheme for pregnant people? Because if so, that’s cold.” That part, she was joking about.

“No really it’s fine.  It’s a fairly valid question.  I mean what guy just suddenly becomes interested in pregnancy.”  He said with a little chuckle.  “I own a tea shop and a lady who was pregnant came in and I realized I didn’t really know much about pregnancy or what women could have.”  Maddox tried to explain, even though it wasn’t really the truth.  “I don’t think I would even know how to create a pyramid scheme for anything, much less pregnant people.” He said with a smile.

Walking after the person on the bike, Cash watched the exchange happen, reaching to pick up the book and hand it to the familiar face, noticing the cover. “So, like, it’s not my place to ask or anything, but…you pregnant bro? Because, if so, you probably should move out from Harris’ place there are probably some fumes you don’t need to be ingesting.”

Maddox laughed and shook his head.  “Do I look pregnant?  Wait don’t answer that.” He said, shaking his head.  “No, I’m not.  So there will be no moving or worrying about that kind of thing.” He assured.  “But thanks for your concern, Cash.  I just thought it would be interesting reading.  I mean do you know what all goes on with women when they’re pregnant?”

Fawn was out walking home from work the long way when she watched this little episode play out. She hurried over to help, and quickly picked up the book before frowning as she went to hand it off to him, “Oh, um…” The girl pulled it back to herself to read the title, “How many months along are you? Or is this just some light reading?”

Maddox held his hand out for the book.  “Thanks.  I suppose I should pay more attention.”  He said, before dropping the hand when she pulled the book back.  He supposed he should have been more careful with having that out, but he hadn’t imagined that people would be paying attention to what he was reading.  “Oh.  Is it that obvious?” He asked, rubbing his stomach and chuckling.  “It’s just some research.”

Maddox felt a little cooped up and decided to get himself a little fresh air time. He was a big fan of nature, after all his degree had to do with plants. He was walking around the park, enjoying the greenery.  Maddox wasn’t fully paying attention and looked up just in time to avoid the person on the bike.  “Shit.” He said, dropping the pregnancy book that he’d brought to read.
