Label Spotlight: Radio Active Hardcore [RAHC]
http://radioactivehardcore.blog.fc2.com/
Neat netlabel started in 2011 by japanese breakcore/mashcore artist DJKurara, it began with mainly promotion of his own works along with those of other underground core artists in Japan before branching out around 2012/2013 to promote artists from around the world mostly through additions to compilations. I’d highly recommend checking out Energetic Hardcore Monsters Vols. 1 & 2 and the recent Sweetcore Absolute compilations.
Little note: a lot of the albums have a lolicore/anime influence in the art style.
Doormouse | Track 7
A little gem here, early doormouse shit from the Summer of 2000 (pre-addict 5). A few of the songs appeared later on the 5th Addict 12″, but a bunch more are as of yet, unreleased. This one in particular is a remix of Geto Boys’ “Gangster of Love,” and it fucking slays.
Noistruct | Crystal Meth Killed The Amphetamine Star
One side: a barrage of hard kicks and wicked movie samples from newcomer Nefarious, the other a dark, twisted vision of unaplogetic breakcore from veteran and ENDE label head, Noistruct aka Boris Otterdam. This album screams old school, and takes no prisoners. Highly recommend checking it out!
Available for free download and/or physical cd on Viral Conspiracy Records here:

Nasenbluten | Letting Off (1993 Demo Version)
If you’re looking for an early example of breakcore, I can’t think of anything better. This recently unearthed gem from Nasenbluten seems to have been a super limited release, experimentation tape between their cassette albums (also on deadgirl), featuring demos & live artifacts. Free download available on the bloody fist bandcamp here:

Check it out!
Ayane Fukumi | The Adventures of Desu
Off the recently released & crowdfunded Loli or Die!! split release with one of the originators of “Lolicore,” Goreshit. A silly mashup track, and even goofier knowing that it has been cut to wax. Highly recommend it, available as both digital download and/or physical 12″ here...

すてらべえ/Stellabee | Farewell
Brand new track off Amen Freaks Vol. 1 CD outta Japan. Definitely recommend it if you can get your hands on a copy. It is a nice look at the current breakcore artists emerging out of Japan in recent years. Available from Tsugihagi Records.

Artist Spotlight: The H8RS
Anyone who knows the Portland Hardcore/Breakcore scene of the mid-2000′s can tell you how influential The H8RS were. A couple of gearheads, that innovated nearly any artist they came in contact with simply from their passion for destroying dancefloors with a hardcore onslaught, happy at times yet always out-of-control. Releasing an early demo cd, a 3″ cd split alongside Selector Catalogue, and a few odd compilation tracks through Reactionary, Fukdup and Sociopath Recordings. The duo of Warcock and Gnargnarkillkill implanted a seed in the Pacific Northwest that has lived on nearly 10 years later.
Personally, I had never had the opportunity to see them perform as a duo but was lucky to catch Gnargnarkillkill in a return show to PDX a few years back, as influential set as I have seen at a breakcore event. It gave me chills. Sadly this past weekend, Josh/Gnargnarkillkill passed away. I figured a spotlight would be a fitting tribute to keep the sounds & spirit of The H8RS alive. Down this beer, and say farewell to a dude that hooked me up with so much awesome jams on the world famous illegal downloading program soulseek, had some good conversations on social media about pro wrestling and sick jams, but more importantly laid the groundwork for a counter to the shitty rave scenes of the Pacific Northwest and lit a fire in some kid from Washington just getting into this breakcore thing along with influencing countless countless others.
And that’s the bottom line, cause Stone Cold said so.

Apologies for the delay
I’ve been busy a lot working on a big relocation across the United States and haven’t had the time to update this blog much in recent months, I think I’m going to change a bit how it is setup and do things a little differently. I’d like to implement a sort of weekly showcase of some new stuff coming out or that has popped up on bandcamp. Maybe, an artist spotlight, or album review/rundown of stuff I dig on the daily. Label spotlight possibly too.
Definitely open to suggestions, user submitted reviews, or whatever..just hit the submit or ask and lemme know what you guys wanna see. I’ve deleted all previous posts and changed the look a bit as well. Music upload posts will be back momentarily. As always, glad to share anyone artist/label who wants to be seen or heard here, no matter how out there it is. Keep it destructive!!
