The art of noistruct
Today I have for you the album Meta Morphic Beats by Noistruct Vs Solypsis, released on Ende Records. It's a pretty decent collection of 7 Noise / Industrial Breakbeat tracks, but it does have some weak spots. First track Cronus Returns has got a nice distorted glitchy beat over a background of droning synths and manipulated vocal samples. It's got a great entrancing sound to it and it works great as a first track on this record. However, track two Shifting Plates didn't really interest me a lot, it's not a bad track, but does meander quite a lot throughout its entire length. It doesn't really go anywhere in terms of composition and does sound more like an extended interlude than a "main" album track. Third track Pannawonica is better though, with a great noisy groove, Noise loops and a great structure, keeping the music varied and engaging throughout its whole 9 minute length. A great listen. Track 4 Two Boon Crawler however is again a little weak, but packs more variation than Shifting Planes and with its short length of 1:40, it works as an interlude to track 5 Ruidoso Bajo. Ruidoso Bajo's got a slow groove with plenty of layered Noise textures and a rather nice droning bass. While on the surface it might appear a little static, once you let the music work on you, it works entrancing in a good way. Track 6 Prometheus is similar to track 5 as it also works in an entrancing way, but it's got a brighter sound and gets harsher near the end. The final track Mammoth On Fire is the most straight-forward beat on this album and works well as a Funky and actually pretty relaxed closing track. In general Meta Morphic Beats by Noistruct Vs Solypsis is a good album, that does have weak spots, but still packs some fun and engaging Noise grooves.
This is Noistruct's EP "Impact Vs Suspense" out on Long Live the Animals Label, featuring a track remixed by myself whilst I was in Canadia.Check it out. "Noistruct was made for the internet, samples, controversy and articles are all part of his daily computer fueled masturbation - rocking the Australian breakcore scene with a keyboard in one hand, a drum machine in the other and his penis held between his feet he takes us on a journey of impact vs suspense with a couple of remixes from friends to show us he does actually have some." http://longlivetheanimals.bandcamp.com/album/llta019-noistruct-impact-vs-suspense
Here is a remix I just did of Noistruct's track Electronic Kindergarten.
Loving this sound.
