My dear, darling, fiercely intelligent, magnificently beautiful wife—today marks the 12th anniversary of our marriage! Oh, I’m am so deeply proud to be your husband. I could live a hundred or a thousand years and never grow tired of the sound of your voice or the shape of your thoughts. As a factual matter, I find that I increasingly enjoy your aspects with every passing day. Lisa Marie, I’m am overwhelmingly fortunate to have found you in my life. When we met, each of us were broken in our own ways having grown up within dysfunctional homes. Since that time, we have both grown kinder, more considerate, more contemplative and deeply-thinking. Yours is the only soul with which my own enjoys a perfect lockstep; ours are two sides of the same coin. Lisa is the one person without whom I would be quite incomplete. She speaks wisdom and sense when I err toward senselessness or frustration. She warms the chill that settles within when my depression brings me low. Lisa reassures me that I am indeed enough, and moreover, that she finds me to be handsome of both body and mind. In turn, I offer her the very best of me. My grandest efforts seek to bring her laughter, to show her the world’s beauty, to offer her peace and comfort, to stoke her self-confidence, and to help her flourish. This last weekend at The Nutcracker was a wonderful experience with my dear Lisa, a wholly remarkable woman, loving wife, and exceptional friend. Thank you for enjoying the ballet with me. Thank you for supporting me when life is unkind and for allowing me to proffer the same to you. Thank you for basking in the joyful, lighthearted moments when they visit. What a year! This last November the 6th marks 11 beautiful years since Lisa and I set off upon our grand adventure in marriage. We have met every quest and challenge at each other’s sides, mutually pursuing our dreams and making our own destinies. My life has been so indelibly marked by Lisa’s presence—each day, I grow more compassionate, energetic, considerate, skillful, intelligent, and thoughtful due to her every influence. This last year has taken us to France and Alaska and Hawaii, through Monet’s gardens, past towering forestry, over sand-swept dunes, and even back to a dalliance with the Regency Era (Bridgerton throwback!). Each year with my beloved wife and best friend, I find that I am truly living life. I hope to share what I’ve seen and learned with family and friends and strangers; I hope Lisa’s and my experiences continue to expand upon and improve the lived experiences of those we meet. So, my dearest Lisa, salud! I almost forgot how fun it was to perform live music! From May 22nd: The Invicta Vox Songwriter Showcase at the Velour Live Music Gallery was such a privilege to be a participant of.
