Daily reminder!
whenever you don’t feel motivated to work, just imagine your future self. if you do the work when you’re supposed to, your future self will be calm, collected and be able to keep working at a steady rate (and eventually finish the task at hand, stress-free). if you don’t do the work when you’re supposed to, your future self will be rushing around, trying to complete things they should have done before, and overly anxious and stressed. be kind to your future self and do the work now.
remember: discipline is just empathy with your future self.

ASK THE FANDOM
Here’s the latest Ask the Fandom from a lovely anon follower:
Hi! Have you heard of ‘The Trial’ by Kafka?? I had to do a paper about a film and this novel, and I chose the VM movie. I found some similarities between the two. What do you think?
Please reblog and add your opinions. We’ll compile responses in a few days.
Have another Ask the Fandom question? Send us a note!
I think that there is a conexion between the book of Kafka and VM but it’s all about the motifs: the corruption, the feeling of loneliness and misunderstanding, the eternal fight against invisible and invincible powers… And that really hit me, the way two different works in two different arts use the same motif and create something so different but so similar
recover from ‘burnout’ in five steps
1. reward yourself for working so hard. take a long bath with your favourite bath bomb, take time to cook your favourite meal, paint your nails. recognise that you worked hard and it was tough and that you deserve time for yourself
2. catch up on sleep. nothing makes studying harder than being exhausted. clear your schedule and have a lie in. even if you don’t sleep late, stay in bed and enjoy a guilt-free lazy morning
3. do something fun. invite your friends over for a movie night, take your dog for a walk. remind yourself that there is more to life than textbooks and notes
4. make a plan. start getting ready to get back into study mode. make a todo list, a study schedule, and a list of your deadlines
5. organise your space. declutter your desk so you have a clean space to be productive in. tidy desk, tidy mind
start again.

It’s been quite some time guys! The new year has started (already a while ago lol) and I hope everyone of you is well and getting closer to your dreams and aspirations! Last year was a ride for me and things haven’t been easy so far but I’m working on it and trying my hardest. Adulting is hard and taking on more responsibilities is quite challenging but it’s part of life and if so many other people were able to do it, why shouldn’t I? Let’s keep working hard and stay true to ourselves ❤
studying is for sure the easiest when it’s the small and simple things that make it do-able! here are the small & simples for you:
write it down, then, type it up. it’s so much easier to retain information when you see it in a bunch of different ways! i always write first and type later! print out your typed up notes and mark them up!
draw, draw, draw. add diagrams wherever you can! this will appeal to your visual-learner-side and could help you discover a new way to understand the material! decorate your notes and help show what’s important with bubbles or stars or whatever you’d like!
stick post-its everywhere. plain & simple, post-it notes are integral parts of studying from coursework & textbooks! mark off sections or important info with them.
make index cards. index cards are amazing for on-the-go memorisation & things of the sort! write down important things or facts or equations and get an index card box, and keep growing your collection.
talk it out. to your parents, your friends, your pets, or even to yourself. explaining complex topics out loud can be a really great way to gauge how well you truly understand things!

An old and a new photo. I miss winter vibes and cold weather.
It is indeed a choice. Today was the second hardest day of my life (this week has literally been the wildest test) and I was once again reminded of some core ideas. Sharing them in hopes it’ll help you get through your tough times:
1 🌿 It’s not going to be easy. People closest to you (and just a nudge, they ain’t really that close if they so insecure) will hate you for trying to live your dream life. Ties will break down and people will hurt you. Don’t let them. Find better influences and push on. 2 🌿 Do the inner work. I 100% believe I wouldn’t be able to write this today, talking about my pain and deriving lessons from it had I not worked on my beliefs, mindset and values for the past 2 years. Work on yourself, spend time with yourself. 3 🌿 Be patient. You’re VERY young! Even if you’re 30, 40, 50– you’re young as fuck. Things take time, dreams require patience to be manifested. Be patient. (props to @garyvee for instilling this in me) 4 🌿 Practice empathy. I don’t hate the people who hurt me. I don’t even waste my energy being angry about “how life sucks”. I have a ton of empathy for those who spread hate (again comes from inner work) because they themselves are hurt. Understand that, and be empathetic. Be brave enough to listen to yourself. Sending hugs. 🌻 https://www.instagram.com/p/Buooh_7nhze/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=xr8wcfek8m3z
2.22.19: snapshots of a very challenging, yet rewarding week. i had a number of application deadlines this week (& for next week too!) along with two papers to write and many, many extracurricular activities scheduled, but i managed to submit everything on time & get a fair amount of sleep this week :-)
