haven’t really had a proper pinned post so here’s a little post to get to know me!

i’m bri, i’m european, i’m an asexual lesbian and this is my silly little corner where i ramble (and sometimes rant) about my favorite shows/ships/characters :)

here’s a list of my favorite characters in no order whatsoever:

#man that is a lot of characters and ships 😭 there’s more that i like but didn’t mention because i don’t like them THAT much. though some of #these characters/ships are not my absolute favorite but i like them enough to mention them so i did #funny how 75% of my favorite characters are women and 10 of the ships are f/f 7 are f/m and only one is m/m #i can't really get invested in a ship if there isn't a woman involved

god one thing that irks me so much for no reason is seeing the tags for clary and jace on ao3 being ‘clary fray’ and ‘jace wayland’ like i get ittt those are the names they’re officially introduced to us as but I DON’T CARE. those aren’t their fucking names 😭 or at least not the name they go by, in clary’s case. like ok jace being a herondale is a spoiler for CoG but like… the books are almost 20 years old. and what are you doing on a fanfiction site if you haven’t read at least the first three books. and even then, he can easily be tagged as jace lightwood. he’s a lightwood and that’s not a spoiler. and by the end of the series, clary goes by fairchild like come onnnnn.

what i personally love seeing in clace fanart:

jace having messy curly golden hair. i am a jace curly hair truther and i’m spreading the agenda

jace not being the tannest person in the world (i personally really dislike tans i’m sorry 😭)

clary having her gorgeous red curls!! straight-haired clary scares me (bonus points for cute curly bangs)

clary being extremely freckled. i love when people draw clary having freckles EVERYWHERE, not just her face (she’s described as having a face full of freckles, her knuckles having a light dusting of freckles, having freckled legs, ect)

this is one is so important to me: clary having a small chest!! she canonically has smaller boobs and i wish there was more fanart of her drawn that way. all boobs are beautiful and small chested women deserve to see themselves just as much as women with medium/big boobs!!

biblically accurate height difference (aka clary barely reaching jace’s shoulder or somewhere around there)

their runes being drawn at least somewhat correctly (hate when jace and/or clary are missing their voyance runes or if they’re in the wrong place/hand, it just bugs me)

today i woke up and was in a bad mood, and honestly, i would venture out to say i was having a bad day before i even woke up. but yeah. today was just incredibly off for me and i felt pissed like half the day and rn i’m sitting in my bed, about to go to sleep and still really pissy and i’m like “why was today so shitty?”

and uh, i got my period today. if you couldn’t tell.

and honestly i never really associate any emotion with my period, but sometimes the two do overlap and i’m like “oh. this makes so much sense.”

the (weirdly) popular notion that diaspro’s some poor misunderstood victim and sky’s the big bad villain is so tiring

i keep seeing so many comments on tiktok talking about how ‘oh, all this time we were hating diaspro while the real villain was sky!’ … 💀 are we deadass?

saw another one about how ‘diaspro being evil is bloom and sky’s fault’… brother. brother.

if you wanted someone to blame, blame it on her parents. they were the ones who raised her to be that way. they were the ones who failed her

but ok let’s talk about 1x17 a little. first of all we can very clearly see that diaspro was a bitch before anything even happened. bloom accidentally bumped into her and she started insulting her, calling her a “stupid clumsy girl” and a “peasant”. immediately insulting and belittling those who she perceive as lesser than her

bloom and sky certainly had nothing to do with her being the way she is. why are we blaming her actions on someone else?

now, could bloom have handled the situation better? yes, but she’s also a 16 year old who was constantly getting harassed by the trix and was at her limit. every time something bad happened they were the cause of it. excuse her for thinking this girl, who was acting a lot like one of the trix would act, was one of them.

and the one who most people blame for the situation - sky. could he have also handled the situation better? yup. he absolutely should’ve told bloom. but again. 16 year old. who was under a lot of pressure and was literally planning to tell her. though aside from that, he is not wrong for developing feelings for bloom and wanting to pursue her. he wasn’t ‘cheating’ on diaspro. him and diaspro weren’t in an actual romantic relationship. it was a business arrangement trying to disguise itself as a relationship. a fucking arranged marriage. he’s 100% justified for not wanting to be with diaspro. diaspro doesn’t own him, and he doesn’t owe her anything.

now in s1, diaspro wasn’t THAT much of a villain. she was just mean. and s2 she’s not really either (i mean we see her for one episode). and yeah, i could see myself feeling bad for her. in fact there’s moments where i do want to feel bad for her (but then i remember everything else and i’m like “yeahhhh. nevermind.” lol). her whole life she was groomed to essentially be sky’s wife. which is genuinely disgusting. and is absolutely horrible on her parents’ part. and yeah i would understand being upset when the engagement falls through. but again, the people who should be getting called out are her and sky’s parents, or the system as a whole. sky is not a villain in her story. he’s just a guy who didn’t wanna spend his life with someone he didn’t like and just wanted to be with the person he loved. and i don’t see how that would make him a bad person. he was never necessarily mean to her and the fact he was even SLIGHTLY okay with her post s3 is a miracle because i could NEVER.

so yeah, s3 and beyond i truly have no sympathy for her. in s3 she drugs sky and forces him to be with her against his will, s5 and on she keeps trying to homewreck him and bloom’s relationship and she basically attempts to kill bloom in s6…. even if sky and bloom were meaner to her in earlier seasons there is nothing that justifies this behavior.

so no. diaspro isn’t some misunderstood villain. you can like her and acknowledge the fact she’s not a good person, or say “in my mind, she got redeemed in s2” and stuff like that. but claiming that diaspro, in the show’s full canon, is anything but a villain is plain bullshit

diaspro is a victim of internalized misogyny and was 100% failed by her parents and the system as a whole. but she is in no way a victim in the sky/bloom situation. they have done NOTHING to her.

Diaspro is the most unlikeable character in the show for me. The fact that I gave redemption arcs to THE TRIX and not to diaspro speaks a lot lmaooo i hate her so much you put it all beautifully op

You know what I'm really starting to hate? This weird movement that has been growing in fandom spaces for the last couple of years where people randomly start defending female bully/mean girls/female villains characters. Sharpey from HSM series, Charlotte from H2O, Azula from atla, above mentioned Diaspro, Jade from Victorious ect.

And it's always the same thing with people that do that: They argue that by defeding those girls they are criticizing misogynistic writing (which is ironic bc they usually end up hating on the female mc who is an actual victim of bullying), down play the action of the bully (inclueding mobbing, harassment and home wrecking), criticize the main group of characters for being rude, not trusting immediately and not helping the bully and if you try to have an open disccusion about this, they will bully you. Like calls to like I guess

there’s so many comments i’ve seen, where in an attempt to be more progressive, people end up doing the opposite

they’ll say “oh, well, as kids we hated diaspro, because she got in between bloom and sky. but now i’m grown and i’ve realized it’s misogynistic to hate her. so sky must be the villain” cause who cares if diaspro drugged sky and tried to murder bloom? she’s obviously the victim in this situation /s

sometimes the villains really are just villains. sometimes they don’t get redeemed.

hating diaspro isn’t misogynistic and diminishing what diaspro did to sky in s3 isn’t alright. you don’t have to like sky but pretending like he wasn’t a victim (in that situation at least) is weird and not as progressive as you think it is.

nah the last 4x09 scene was actually wild. cause wdym bloom and sky were sitting on bloom’s bed, holding hands with bloom saying “when you love someone, sometimes one word is enough to sort things out or mess things up” and sky saying “that’s true, so maybe we better not speak.” in a playful tone, as he giggles, and then it zooms in on their hands and the screen slowly fades to black??? this is so wild for a kids show. and crazy how i don’t even think i picked this up on my last rewatch

winx s4 reminding me of how much i hate pointless jealously plot lines... they're so stupid. literally what is the point

s4 is such a dear season to me. it's the most nostalgic and the most fun and it's absolutely one of my favorites but this is probably one of the worst parts of it for me.

in those specific scenes bloom and sky (+ stella and brandon) feel SO out of character to me. and it feels so forced and so damn stupid

Same 😭 like especially after s2 and s3 where stella and brandon's love for one another was tested (downlands and the mirror of truth) and also s2 and s3 for sky and bloom (dark bloom and Valtor's curse) I think they'd have a solid relationship now and understand that they won't cheat on each other. But no the writers want petty fights 😭😭

for bloom and sky - literally why would bloom flirt with her ex. literally why. and why would sky flirt with some random girls??? it makes no sense

and for stella and brandon - they literally never cared about that stuff. hell, in s2 they had a contest on who could flirt/get hit on by more people

like i promise you, removing those stupid plot lines would genuinely take absolutely nothing away from the story. it wouldn’t be ‘boring’, especially since there’s already so much other stuff happening
