years ago I was working on my first original story. it had gone through a ton of changes and I had finally settled on it and making so much real progress on it. I was so proud

then 2 years later, the movie A Fantastic Fear of Everything came out. and I remember watching it like "haha Simon Pegg's character is pretty similar to my main character :)"

and then as I kept watching it I was like. oh. oh this is basically the entirely same character I was writing and someone just beat me to it.

DEVASTATING for 20yo me. I abandoned the story. what a foolish thing to do. I should have kept working on it. nothing is original anyway ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

idk about the video game. that changes all the time. favorite video game series of all time is Fallout though, since I was like 11. but lately I've been obsessed with Cult of the Lamb and replaying RDR2.

I basically never solo-drink but today I was in the mood to sit at tables and work on writing while sipping bourbon. so now it's like 4 in the afternoon and I'm drunk and alone. I hardly ever even drink to begin with, esp not by myself

the result of this is I texted my bf that I spent 18 bucks per cocktail on woodford reserve old fashioneds and now I'm gonna take the cat for a walk around the block after I eat some french fries

my favorite musician is touring here in the fall. and my boyfriend bought tickets for us, for another city that's like an hour away. then he realized he was playing in OUR city too and was like "oh shit" and also bought those tickets

then he told me and was like "I fucked up. idk what to do with these other 2 tickets'

and they're expensive. so I was like, try to sell them. otherwise I guess we're going twice in a row 😎

which I was kidding about. these are expensive tickets and going to see the same musician twice seems silly (even though I would love to and he changes up his shows enough that I do believe it would be worth it)

well asked the bf this morning if he sold the other tickets and he's just like "oh I thought we were going to both. already got us a hotel room"

literally the moment I get home I change into the silk robe. I want to trade in all my fabrics for silk.

also my cat likes to get my attention by pawing at me so yesterday when he did it and snagged my robe with his claws, I responded extremely instinctively and turned and full-on hissed at him. I've never done that before. ive never even heard HIM hiss before and I've had him since he was a baby. he looked so alarmed and confused and I felt so bad. but like. also don't touch my fucking robe
