this might be a hot take but this current hadestown cast (from what I’ve seen) is on a level of uniqueness and just excellence that I haven’t seen since the original cast. Jack as orpheus obviously, he brings such a lightness and youth to the role that’s just so so magical, and then morgan adding SO many layers to eurydice and morgan plays her as more distrustful than other eurydice interpretations, much more cautious while still being bitingly sarcastic. and then rebecca naomi jones as an INCREDIBLE persephone, obsessed with her interpretation I think she really gets persephone as a character. Kurt elling is a wonderful hermes I really like the different.. cadences? with which he delivers his lines compared to other hermes actors. AND DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON PAULO SZOT AS HADES THAT IS A MAGICAL, PERFECT CASTING. His and Morgan’s Hey, Little Songbird is perfection.
