maybe someday I’ll circle back and recap our adventures thru SE Asia and our first year and a half back in Chicago (including a few trips: two visits to DC, hiking in Utah, London and Copenhagen, and a drive down the Pacific coast). but for now.. we’re happy, we’re healthy, and we’re a family of three! our little lady joined us in September 2017, and the world has never been a more beautiful, adventurous place <3
Hi friends and family who maybe still remember this exists! So much has happened in the past two months. Our trip thru SE Asia was an amazing, challenging, eye opening experience. In nine weeks we explored India, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Malaysia. Be on the lookout for posts coming soon. Jeff has put a ton of pics on FB so check there if you haven't seen them already. Next up comes out transition back to Chicago. We're definitely ready to be home, but also pretty nervous about how this will go. If anyone has any repatriation tips or leads on apartments in Chicago, you just let us know :) Anyway, it's good to be home. We've missed you all. Hoping to see you soon! March and April highlights in London

we hiked the West Highland Way over Easter weekend. Jeff had been in Glasgow for work, so I flew up to meet him. we took the train northwest for about 2 hours then began our trek. we hiked 3 hours the first day, 6 the next, 7 on the third (in driving rain.. blech.), and 8 on the fourth.. 43 miles in total which is just under half of the whole trail!

we actually started our visit to Liverpool with a Beatles tour!
I wanted to save this post for today tho, my Dad’s 60th birthday. anytime I do anything Beatles-related (or music-related for that matter) I think of my Dad and how much he would have loved to see these places. ”In My Life” came on while we were driving around on our tour, and I knew he was with me (and I mean.. come on.. the Beetle in front of Paul’s house? classic Den ;) ) happy birthday, Daddy.. I love you and I miss you everyday <3

we spent valentine’s weekend in Liverpool where we went to an Everton match and did a walking tour of the city
we took a day trip out to Stonehenge and Bath at the end of January with the Beckers and the Binkins - two UNESCO world heritage sites in on day.. not a bad Saturday!
