On May 17th, 2025, 25-year old Guy Bartkus bombed an IVF clinic in Palm Springs, California. Four people were injured and one person died, that one casualty being Guy. He left behind a website and 30-minute long audio manifesto explaining his motives.
Both his website and audio manifesto expressed a hatred towards life itself. He argued that life is inherently harmful, and since you can't possibly get consent from the unborn that you shouldn't have children.
Guy was born on September 23rd, 1999 in Waterbury, Connecticut. He and his family moved multiple times in California before settling in Twentynine Palms.
As a child, Guy's father would verbally abuse him, leading to him cutting off his father at the age of 15 after his parents' divorce. In a Reddit post, Guy says his father was actively trying to harm him (whether that be physically or mentally—he didn't specify).
His father claims he would play with matches and explosives as a child. At the age of 9, he accidentally set the family home on fire, which led his father to hold a grudge against him for years to come.
While he committed the bombing because of his anti-life views, the death of his best friend, Sophie, is what ultimately brought him over the edge.
On April 20th, 2025, Sophie Tinney committed suicide by convincing her roommate to shoot her in the head in her sleep. Her death hit Guy hard; he stated on an online forum, "that was the last thing tethering me here" (referring to Sophie). He also attempted suicide on May 4th, just 13 days before the bombing, presumably because of the loss.
"I won't allow my brain to get over you, Sophie," Guy wrote in the hidden comment code of his website. "There's no reason to anyways."

While the attack was Guy's idea, and he carried it out, he had help. Daniel Park, 32-year old Washington man, came to stay at Guy's place in the months leading up to the attack.
Guy and Daniel had similar interests and ideologies, so the two naturally got along quite well. They would spend hours working on experiments in the garage.
Days after the bombing, Daniel fled to Poland but was later extradited back to the United States. However on June 24th, while in police custody, Daniel killed himself by climbing onto an upper level of the detention center and jumping off a balcony.
