Main staircase with Dutch tiles

After 1774 Nieborów Palace passed to the art-loving prince Michał Hieronim Radziwiłł, who redecorated the place magnificently in period style furniture and artworks. He founded a library with over 10,000 volumes and  also started an extensive art gallery: he collected Dutch, German, Italian and Spanish paintings and portraits of Polish and foreign dignitaries.

Constantine’s arch commemorates his victory over Maxentius at the battle of the Milvian Bridge, in 312 AD. The arch uses spolia, so it re-uses earlier decorative fragments to put upon the new arch. Similarities can be seen on the Arch of Septimius Severus.
