Another HM era Brett in his cursed cracksuit. Photo by Philippe Mazzoni for Rock Sound, June 1999
Photo by Adrian Green for NME, March 1999
i love Adrian Green’s work immensely but i’m gonna flip Brett around the right way. love the lighting and the whole article, thx!
@tiesandtea def. looks better reversed back as it should be! i could see it had been turned the wrong way, but it was the author of the photo who did, so i kept it that way when posting it… anyway, here are 2 more from the same shoot! :)

To celebrate the 21st anniversary of Can’t Get Enough, here’s Brett (in a vest - he’s in fashion!) talking about his obsessions, in a piece published around the time the single was out
Brett Anderson (Suede) - Scanned by Betheriel
Brett on the cover of Swedish magazine Bibel, no. 6 (pages 66-71), which went on sale on 2 March 1999. The interview and pictures were from December 1998; it was Brett’s first major interview since Sci-Fi Lullabies. It’s featured quite heavily in SIS #22 from March 1999. The writer, Annina Rabe, was the first person outside the band to hear tracks from the upcoming album Head Music.
Bibel was a style/fashion magazine which existed in 1998-2000 (no. 1-14). According to SIS, Brett was the first musician to grace the magazine’s cover. The interview was accompanied by exclusive photos by Dazed & Confused photographer Martina Hoogland-Ivanow. The cover title can be roughly translated as “Better looking than ever” (x).
SIS #22 even included “some of the highlights” from the interview, translated from Swedish. Scanned & posted by Richard Oakes Fans page on fb here. This part is mostly about the music:
According to Ida Gustavsson, it was a very good interview with very nice pictures. She transcribed a selection of questions and answers from the interview on her Suede fansite; a slightly revised Google translation under the cut.

SUEDE – now with humour
Suede featured in the Danish free music magazine GAFFA shortly after A New Morning came out, October 2002 (no. 10). An interview with Brett and Mat, short comments on the album tracks, and a review.
Photos by Casper Helmer and Morten Larsen. The magazine can be downloaded as .pdf here (look for pages 22-24 and 50).
Translation of the interview by Peter Albrechtsen under the cut. Own work.
OUT OF THE DARK
Brett Anderson and the rest of Suede have acknowledged that the substance that dreams are made of can neither be ingested nor inhaled. It has to come from the heart. And it does on their new album A New Morning, which was one of the topics of conversation when GAFFA met a transformed band in Copenhagen
