In class, I never used to raise my hand. And at work, I’d rarely speak up in meetings. For a long time, I was soooo afraid of being wrong. ✨ This fear of being wrong is ingrained in us early on by our experiences and upbringing. And to some extent, it’s also hardwired in us as mechanism for survival. But being wrong is rarely dangerous anymore, it simply threatens our egos. ✏️ One way to combat this is to “write in pencil,” the idea is to give yourself permission to be wrong sometimes, and edit and evolve as you go. 📝 As I begin sharing my thoughts here, I’ll be “writing in pencil.” What I share will reflect my thoughts, experiences, and research in the present moment. And if I come across compelling insights that shift those viewpoints, I will openly share why I’ve have changed my mind. 💫 Here’s to sharing openly, making mistakes along the way, and to “strong opinions, loosely held.” (at San Francisco, California)
