Sirens in the Silence (4/15/13)

Sirens in the silence,

I hear them coming,

screaming you name

and calling for your safety.

I wish you'd made it safely;

save me, save me,

you kept saying.

But now I'm the one to blame,

blame me;

I'm ashamed of me...

Save me, save me

from these memories,

they're haunting

and daunting.

I miss you

but I can't keep seeing you,

not like this...

I miss the days go by

and I'm stuck asking why

the sun still shines for eternity

but my sun's not with me?

People see the light burn brightly

but I feel a burn even in the night,

fighting

and flying,

trying

to not see you in the dark,

lying,

because I know I do.

There's sirens in the silence,

I can hear them

and I wished you would have heard them, too.

Always (4/9/13)

Heavy breathing,

she's had another dream...

a nightmere, really,

but any thought of him

is beautiful,

mournful...

I promised I'd hold her,

let he squeeze my hand

when the memories overwhelmed her;

cry on my shoulder when the thoughts consumed her;

curl into my arms when the pain embraced her.

I know she feels it;

a darkness fighting to engulf her heart,

to steal her life

just like it took his.

But I fight harder;

I will always fight for her,

for myself.

Urgency (3/18/13)

I feel a sense of urgency to find you,

to let you know I haven't stopped looking,

I haven't stopped aching for you,

praying, crying, wandering, calling

for you.

There's a hole in my chest,

and I have been trying to cram

it full of things

so that when I did see you,

I'd be whole.

But everything that I grab onto

is fleeting...

diminishing, unsustaining, and false.

And I'm so ashamed to not

be put together,

to have to put broken pieces in

your hands.

Oh, there is such an urgency to find you.

Please come find me.

Don't stop looking and praying.

In time, my love,

our voices will overlap.

Fierce (3/15/13)

Eyes so intoxicating,

like I'm drowning

in a sweet barrel

of beautifully aged whiskey;

yet faded baby blue,

like baby's breath

flowers.

But she is fierce,

like a tigress on the prowl.

There's something undeniably

frightening and lovely

to be said about someone

who can fight behind such

transparent eyes,

yet hide behind

a ferocious, gentle smile.

Ah, yes, her eyes are intoxicating,

far more than I can drink in

but I refuse to stop drowning.
