"old friends" is an underrated relationship dynamic because it's such an innocent boring sounding term for what is usually some of the wildest shit imaginable. it's always like 'oh yeah we go way back, we have history' and then you find out that history includes sex, drugs, murder, divorce, war crimes and The Incident
Police vs law enforcement
In my experience, both Asians and non Asians are pretty unaware of Asian American history. I was too up until college when I took it upon myself to learn as much as possible. I’m STILL learning. The thing is, our history is barely taught. You might hear about Chinese Exclusion or the internment of Japanese citizens, but that’s usually it. In order to combat racism, ignorance, and disrupt the model minority myth, we need to understand our history.

i don’t care how much u dislike a character that’s literally confirmed to be japanese/a poc, turning around and calling them white/not a poc because u don’t like them is… weird?? that’s very freakish behavior and i don’t understand why it’s not called out as being problematic and racist more often. hair color and privilege don’t matter either. they’re literally still japanese/a poc, no matter what.

Girl help, Tumblr keeps taking 'Stop Asian Hate' off of trending.
i hate that they’re calling them astronauts.
*sits down*
dont you think its weird. dont you think its weird that the space race last time was two of the biggest powers in the world. and now its a handful of rich men. dont you think its weird they can afford that. dont you think its bad that rich men can afford the same things as the government.
dont you think its weird that while the world is suffering and poverty is everywhere, where there's wars and climate change and human pain and homelessness. the same month I've watched people die on the news from unbearable heat and unprecedented flooding. that a rich handful of men are going to space, causing more carbon emissions. dont you think its weird that instead of putting their vast amount of money to use for good they're using it to find a way off the planet theyre destroying.
dont you think its really fucking weird.
Stop treating the Stop Asian Hate movement as a lesser movement.
