My kalanchoe is blooming just two weeks after i cut back its previous blooms... i’m so tempted to cut the leaves off to encourage bushier growth...

Received this standard magenta phalaenopsis for Employee ‘Appreciation’ Day... my first orchid and I’ve been given a project. Bacterial brown rot... the original spaghum moss media was so tightly packed I had to pry it off with tweezers. 

Replaced with fresh moss, some bark, and cut the diseased leaves off. Also cut off rotted roots (couldn’t be sure of some that were flat/wrinkled but not squishy...?)

The flowers fell off already and the bud looks like it’s next. I’ll probably wait one more week to see what happens to the bud, and then I suppose I’ll cut the flower spike down to a bud to see if it’ll branch again...?

my new little guy! took him off someone’s hands because he was too aggressive for their nano tank. all he’s done so far is run around his new tank and bite things.

Protip: when u catch urself thinking “WOW my tank is going perfectly! nothing’s gone wrong in such a long time!” that is a LIE and ONLY BAD THINGS can happen after.

These are the two betta that I’ve had in the past, Zephyr (Dumbo Delta) and Axel (Doubletail). I tend to try to pick the sickest-looking fish of the Petco bunch, so they each only lived about 8 months, but I loved them dearly and tried my best to make the time they had left idyllic.
