Upon seeing someone coming towards her Sophie smirked. “You can only have one of three reasons to come over here to me in my corner,” she said to them. “One; to ask me to drink with you in which case I must defer, two; to ask about dancing in which case I would have to lie and say my feet are very sore or three; to tell me some kind of fantastic news which will draw me out of this corner of the room once and for all. So tell me, which one is it?”
“Oh I actually just came to occupy the corner as well but if it’s a fuss I can find somewhere else I just, uh dances well big group events actually aren’t my thing.” Bridget smirked with a shrug.
Her dress was a gossamer sort of creation, simple in design and ultimately, not memorable; Miriam had clutched it when it had arrived and had declared it perfect. The filmy material floated around her ankles as she walked, seeking out someone to linger beside, perhaps even talk to. Green eyes found home on a grin and she paused, reaching out for their shoulder. “Having a good time?”
Bridget had been having an alright time. Admittedly she had been spending the night mostly to herself but she was watching someone do a silly dance move towards the center when she felt a hand on her shoulder. “Hmm? Oh uh I suppose.” She said with a shrug. “Did you just get here?” She asked curiously.
“Wait, let me get this straight. I go away for a few days and you guys decide to give away a bunch of awards? I mean, it makes sense. Competing against me for an award is completely unfair, but hey, now you’re all having fun and I’m feeling just a little bit left out.” Damien joked dramatically, the smug smile on his lips showing that the boy who never measures his own words is back.
“Oh please. It’s a silly competition I’m sure your ego isn’t that fragile. Unless you need me to make a fake award for you to feel better about yourself?” She teased with an easy laugh.
“and I thought the school was nice.” Bridget muttered to herself taking in the country club. “Well should be fun right? One week of no stress.”
“Well, that’s the whole fucking point, isn’t it?”
I mean I guess yes, but they sure don't like to make it seem that way.
“and I thought the school was nice.” Bridget muttered to herself taking in the country club. “Well should be fun right? One week of no stress.”
“I’m paying my goddamn soul to be here so they better be treating me hella fancy,” she joked but part of it had been true. It wasn’t like she could really afford to be at school let alone be at places they held event but it had been worth not having to go to school from home. “It should be but we have to work and that’s bullshit.”
“I completely understand.” Bridget said with a knowing nod. She works her ass off almost literally to be at the school. “Well the rest of this week.”
“and I thought the school was nice.” Bridget muttered to herself taking in the country club. “Well should be fun right? One week of no stress.”
“Sure now, but I’m not sure if it was worth having to work like a dog to be here.”
I suppose you’re right I’m just used to working a lot I guess.
“Lucky you” Charlie said, looking up from the seat she was occupying. “The rest of us had to work our asses off”
Well I just meant these next few days they gave us off. But okay.”
The brunette placed her hands over her mouth and her eyes widened. “Oh I’m so sorry! I thought maybe you didn’t know how stressful everything got and I was warning you. I’m sorry.”
“No no you’re completely fine. I am just not sure what all is going on but I was told that the next few days we have free and I don’t know what free time is anymore and why exactly I’m here at this country club.” Bridget shrugged. “I used to be the fun one dammit. I need some fun.”
“Yeah…yeah, I’m sure it’ll be great,” Hanna replied, with a slowly growing smile as she grew more convinced. She’d felt unsure at first. “And this place looks like a lot of fun, don’t you think?”
“I don’t know I have never been anywhere this nice in my life. But I surely hope so.” She said with a nervous yet excited chuckle turning to look at the girl.
Maia glanced over her shoulder with a smile when she heard a voice. “No stress? I’d think twice about that if I were you. People always find a way to make these trips stressful.”
“Oh god no don’t say that, it was the one thing I was using to convince myself this vacation was a good idea.” Bridget chuckled with a shake of her head.
