Double page spreads for my reimagining of the book ‘The Velveteen Rabbit’ by Margery Williams for a second year publishing university project.
I reimagined this classic book by creating a concertina book for younger children. This illustrations appeared on one side of the concertina book with the aim of being stood up or stuck to a wall as a backdrop to children playing with their toys. This mimicked the theme of the book: toys becoming real.

Book cover designs for Penguin Random House’s 2021 Student Design Awards Adult Fiction Category (Life Isn’t All Ha Ha Hee Hee by Meera Syal).
I really loved doing this cover and found focusing on the typography and text my favourite part. I wanted to incorporate the ideas from the book into the cover, so I illustrated the key scenes whilst still keeping the type as bold and centre stage as possible!

Book cover designs for Penguin Random House’s 2021 Student Design Awards Children Category (Talking Turkeys by Benjamin Zephaniah).
I absolutely loved reading through this poetry collection by Benjamin Zephaniah and was very inspired by the themes within the book, especially the idea of loving the world around us. I tried to include key imagery from the poems so that the more you read the book, the more the cover makes sense. It was also a lot of fun to create some typography for the design!
