Brandy and Bitters// Briephire
Brie stood tapping her foot impatiently as the dim barista rushed around trying to put together a simple macchiato and black to go. Although it wasn't like she was on a time limit, technically she wasn't even supposed to be in until the next day, Brielle still wanted to make it up to Sapphire's apartment before the other girl got back from her last class of the day. An early surprise if you will. "Order up." The scrawny boy called putting both coffees down exasperatedly on the bar. He'd be cuter if he hadn't fought with the espresso machine for nearly ten minutes. Brie gave a thin smile and tipped a small amount before grabbing her drinks and heading back out the cab. "You know the meter runs constantly right sweet cheeks?" The big man driving the cab asked condescendingly grinning as she slid into the back shaking the snow from out of her hair. "I'm well aware, Monsieur. If you'd be so kind to keep your eyes on the road and off my cleavage Id be much obliged." She shot back grumbling about shoddy service. He was disgruntled but pulled out into traffic none the less to head to the downtown complex she'd given the address of off at the airport. Once there he was billed the proper amount making sure to flash a couple extra twenties to let him know he'd made a mistake in insulting her and sent him back off with no tip. A nice bellhop boy to the building helped her with her luggage and she sweet talked the desk into giving her Sapphire's spare key and mail, it was shocking how naive some of these Americans were with their touchiness toward heartfelt sisters who hadn't seen each other in months while she was off at Peace Corps fighting for the free breeding rights of the Guinea Fowldania Bird. At least Sapph would get a laugh out of it. She made her way up to the room with her bags and thanked the boy for his help. Settling in she checked her watch again and was right on the dot with about two hours before Sapph would get home. She changed into casual clothes, some sweats and an old Duke tee before unpacking some of the essentials, makeup, shoes, dresses and such that needed hanging. The apartment was cute, quaint, but cute. Subtle and understated a nice contrast to her loving abrasive friend. Brie was happy to see all of her postcards and gifts were displayed on a bookcase, along with a few pictures of them and some of Sapph's other friends, and even one group shot of her and Akiton standing almost near each other. Making herself comfortable she kicked on the couch flipping on the tv to find something worth watching and phoned around for a good delivery Chinese place.
