my skin infection which is induced by stress really got to me this year. tonight is the best it's been all week... my lip got a lot better within the last couple of hours. been in bed resting all the time b/c my body has been reacting to the meds really weird. and tbh, it has been really hard going out in public b/c people be mean. like i went to this little tiendita and this older man was like "QUE TE PASO EN TU CARA?" all horrified and i was like "no se :'( " and then today this stupid advisor for this org was all "what's going on with your face?" and i was like "what's going on with your attitude #lemmegobacktobed " and and needless to say, i always go #treatyoself but forget to treat myself *deep breath*

We have all hurt someone tremendously, whether by intent or accident. We have all loved someone tremendously, whether by intent or accident. It is an intrinsic human trait, and a deep responsibility, I think, to be an organ and a blade. But, learning to forgive ourselves and others because we have not chosen wisely is what makes us most human. We make horrible mistakes. It’s how we learn. We breathe love. It’s how we learn. And it is inevitable.

Oakland Community Demands Justice for John Crawford III at East-Side Walmart | AmericaWakieWakie

January 18th, 2015

Pictured: John Crawford, 22, was shot and killed Aug. 5th by police in the Dayton suburb of Beavercreek, Ohio, while holding a toy rifle in a Walmart. He was remembered today as protesters shutdown an East Oakland Walmart and placed stickers on products reading “WARNING: Persons of color picking up this object may be subject serious injury or death at the hands of Walmart and police”. It has been 163 days since Crawford was gunned down by two police officers, neither of which were indicted.

This action, like several others across the Bay Area this weekend, took place in response to the Anti-Police Terror Project’s call for a weekend of reclaiming MLK’s militant legacy of direct action, a call which came initially from Ferguson Action. The Anti-Police Terror Project is a multi-racial, multi-generational coalition of concerned and committed institutions, organizations and individuals committed to ending state sanctioned murder of Black, Brown & Poor People.
