Seasons Shift, and So Do We

Whew. Life has been moving in waves lately sometimes soft and peaceful, sometimes crashing with surprise. But one thing about me? I’m riding every single one with grace, gratitude, and a whole lot of glam.

Let’s start with Lyric. My first baby. My day one. She’s off at college now, living in her own space, finding her voice, and I couldn’t be prouder. Watching her grow into herself is beautiful and bittersweet, but I know she’s exactly where she’s meant to be. And yes, she still texts me about food, laundry, and life on the regular (some things never change).

Jade and Journi? Teenagers. I’m still processing that. It feels like I blinked and now we’re shopping for skincare, curfews are real, and side eyes are a daily thing. Birthday pics are coming soon; they did not come to play this year. And neither did I, honestly.

As for me and Donnell… well, we’re twining again. Yep. Another set of twins is on the way a girl and a boy this time. Shocked? So were we. But we’re excited, nervous, and counting blessings times two, once again. I never imagined I’d do this again but here we are, and I’m choosing joy every step of the way.

Career-wise, I’m still clocking in and showing up balancing work, motherhood, and a few new international swimwear campaigns (passport stamps incoming!). Meanwhile, Donnell just got promoted as Tomarang’s top artist. His work is finally getting the global recognition it deserves, and I’m beyond proud.

My parents are still enjoying retirement on their own terms. Mom just wrapped her tour and came back glowing, and Dad was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. The legacy is real. And my sister? She and her beautiful family are doing amazing, as always.

It’s been a whirlwind. But one filled with milestones, movement, and memories. So if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been… now you know.

been a lil quiet on here lately… life been nonstop. kids, work, everything in between. but last night? outside called and I answered 😌

Britta in Bloom: Easter Recap

The Cole Family Easter Edition

Easter Sunday was all things soft, sweet, and special.

We kept it classic—spring colors, fresh air, and family front and center.

We spent the day outdoors surrounded by cherry blossoms and good vibes. The girls were in full bloom—matching dresses, giggles, and a whole lot of toddler energy. Lyric gave her signature teen slay, and Donnell was his usual calm, cool self, making sure everything ran smooth while I… well, I just soaked it all in.

From pastel fits to Easter baskets and bunny kisses, it was the kind of day that reminds you to pause and be grateful. No fancy production, no pressure—just us, in the moment.

Family, fashion, and faith. That’s what this season is about.

A Visit to Grandma's House

There’s something sacred about pulling up to a place your mama used to call home. Where the porch boards creak just right, and the breeze carries stories you haven’t heard yet.

This week, Mama took Simone and me down South to meet our roots grandma, grandpa, and our aunties.

It was Simone’s first time. My first time too.

We stood outside that house for a moment just taking it in. Generations lived behind that door. People who looked like us. Loved like us. And had no idea who we really were until that moment.

This hug held years. Stories I didn’t know. Love I didn’t grow up with but still felt like mine

And then there was them.

They didn’t say a word. Didn’t have to. That look said, ‘Mhm."

We see you. My aunties, my mom sisters, not knowing what to say....

No one prepared me for what it would feel like to walk into a house that holds your family’s history. To hug someone who remembers your mother before she had her own. To be watched by aunties who’ve got opinions but not voices—yet.

But that’s what made it real.

This wasn’t just a visit. This was a first chapter. And I think something is starting.

This Is What Happens After the Plates Are Cleared

The food’s been served, plates are mostly cleared, and everyone’s still sitting around the table because no one has the energy to move—but also because no one wants to be the first to leave the drama.

Simone and Ava were side-eyeing each other all through dessert. You know that silent mother-daughter beef? The one where Ava thinks she’s grown and Simone reminds her with a look that she absolutely is not? Yeah. That was unfolding in 4K across the sweet potato pie.

Meanwhile, Lyric got slick with her mouth one good time, and I had to let her know real quick that pregnancy or not, I will always have the energy to snatch her back to reality. 😤 She gave me the “okay, chill” look, but respected it. We’re not about to raise a brat not on this table, not on this day.

And then there was my mom, Celeste, just sitting there with her wine glass, quietly taking it all in like she was watching a live episode of her favorite drama. Not judging. Not interrupting. Just… observing. I swear she lives for these moments.

The men? Donnell, my dad, Jordan? They just sat in silence. Forks down. Brows raised. Letting the women handle it like their lives depended on staying completely out of it.

And yet—even with the tension, the snark, the drama… It still felt like love. Because family isn’t always hugs and matching pajamas. Sometimes, it’s awkward silences, deep sighs, passive-aggressive glances, and choosing to sit through it anyway. Because even when it’s messy… it’s still us.

And Just Like That… The Shower is Over

Whew. My feet hurt, my cheeks hurt from smiling, and my heart? So full. Britta’s baby shower was everything I dreamed of and more. From the gold balloons to the peach lemonade mocktails, everything felt soft, sweet, and so her. ✨

Family showed up. Friends came through. Lyric rolled her eyes at the baby games (but played anyway, don’t let her lie). Donnell? He spent most of the time making sure I had a seat and a snack in hand at all times. 🥺

We laughed. We cried (okay, I cried—thank you hormones). We celebrated these two little miracles before they even arrive. And somewhere between gift #12 and “Guess the Baby Food,” I realized… we’re really doing this.

This wasn’t just a shower. It was a reminder of how loved we already are. How supported we are. How ready I am… even on the days I feel like I’m not.

To everyone who showed up, showed love, or showed out—thank you. 💕 Now excuse me while I go put my feet up, rub this belly, and try to figure out where I’m going to store all these baby clothes. 😩

“So… This is Why Y’all Called a Family Meeting?”

Listen. I had this whole sweet moment planned. Thought I’d sit my daughter down, tell her the exciting news, maybe shed a tear together, share a hug—you know, family bonding type of stuff.

Instead, I got straight teenage energy.

Lyric, arms crossed, staring me and Donnell down like we just told her she was getting evicted: 👀 “So… this is why y’all called a family meeting?”

No “Congrats, Mom!” No “OMG, I’m so happy!” Just pure skepticism. And THEN she hit us with the real concern:

🍿 “Y’all better not expect me to share my snacks.”

Ma’am?? 😭😭 Not my daughter prioritizing her pantry rights over welcoming her new siblings. These twins haven’t even arrived yet, and she’s already setting boundaries. Meanwhile, Donnell and I are just sitting there, trying not to lose it laughing. Because let’s be real this was peak Lyric behavior.

So yeah, baby #2 and baby #3 are officially on the way, and our oldest is sort of adjusting… as long as it doesn’t affect her snack supply.

Still no perfect picture (yet!), but the news is TOO BIG to keep quiet…👶🏾 TWINS. Yes, TWO. That means double the diapers, double the feedings, and double the “omg are they asleep yet?” moments. 😭Donnell is already in super dad mode, researching the best car seats like we don’t have months to go. Meanwhile, Lyric is still side-eyeing me like she just got evicted from her Only Child status. 😂

Honeymoon Diaries: From “I Do” to Paradise ✈️✨

After the most magical wedding, it was finally time to escape—just me, Donnell, and a honeymoon straight out of a dream. But before we could officially switch into vacation mode, there were a few things to take care of…

First up? Lyric. Our little love was off to stay with my parents, and let’s be real—she was living her best life before we even left. Between Grandma’s cooking and Grandpa spoiling her with attention, I doubt she even noticed we were gone. (Meanwhile, I was already missing her.)

Back home, as I tried to focus on packing, Simone popped in for a “quick” visit. And by quick, I mean she stayed just long enough to distract me with wedding gossip. Who was too tipsy at the reception? Who was caught whispering in the corner? And why was one guest practically glued to the dessert table? (No shade, but we saw it all.)

With our bags finally packed and Simone’s gossip session complete, Donnell and I were off—ready for sunsets, champagne, and an entire week of nothing but love.
