𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗖 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗦
A major part of the conversation focuses on the seven Hermetic principles described in ancient Hermetic teachings and summarized in The Kybalion.
Clif refers to these principles as governors or algorithms that shape reality.
The first principle is mentalism, the belief that consciousness is primary and that everything begins in mind.
The second principle is correspondence, often expressed as “as above, so below,” meaning patterns repeat across different levels of existence.
The third principle is vibration, the understanding that nothing is truly motionless and that everything is constantly moving and changing.
The fourth principle is polarity, which states that every condition has an opposite and that opposites are connected expressions of the same underlying reality.
The fifth principle is rhythm, which describes the cycles, tides and pendulum movements that appear throughout nature, politics, economies and individual lives.
The sixth principle is cause and effect, which holds that every action creates consequences.
The seventh principle is gender, which describes masculine and feminine forces as necessary aspects of creation and expression.
Clif says he first encountered these teachings as a young man. Rather than accepting them solely as spiritual doctrine, he claims he spent approximately fifty years testing them through observation and first principles reasoning.
𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗠 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗠 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗡 𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡
Clif places the greatest emphasis on the principle of mentalism. He argues that consciousness is the foundation of reality and that matter is a secondary appearance produced through perception.
He compares existence to a simulation, although he says simulation theory is only an analogy and not a complete explanation.
In his model, every individual mind is a finite expression contained within a greater consciousness that he calls the Absolute.
The Absolute represents the source of all consciousness, creation and experience. Individual beings appear separate so they can experience life from different perspectives.
Clif proposes that these experiences eventually return to the Absolute, allowing the greater consciousness to experience itself through countless individual lives.

Clif raises a philosophical question. If the Absolute contains everything and knows everything, can anything genuinely new ever exist?
He describes the universe as an experiment in novelty.
Every person, decision, relationship and act of creation may produce an experience that has never been expressed in exactly the same way before.
In this understanding, human beings are not simply learning lessons for their own benefit. They are creating experiences that contribute to the greater consciousness.
Clif suggests that the mere possibility of novelty was itself a novel thought, which initiated the process of creation.
