Here are a few of my Gas Kiln Pieces. Some on the glazes on my Alchemy plates ran a bit, so some sort of glow, but some look like jizz on a plate.
Here are some of my pieces that made it into the second Soda Kiln of the season. I’ll be up at 4am Tomorrow to start off the third and final Soda Kiln of Fall 2016 Semester.
Wood Kiln Anyone?
My friend Homer (Mike) and I both go to Bowling Green State University, he’s an art student a year below me. Meaning he’s taking some of the first year perspective classes that I had to take last year. This is his installation piece for his 4-D class, from the beginning of the semester. We collaborated with getting it set up, but it’s all his vision. I just helped him in taking the pictures. I also got to use my teaching skills.
I mean It can be art?
I pulled this out of you know where in 2 hours for an Art History project. Suppose to represent the Mana and Ancestral connections of the Hei-Tiki.
For those who are following the plates. They have all been bisque and one of the alchemy circles have had cobalt blue (dark blue) underglaze put into the lines. I’m going to be making glazes and testing them over break to figure out what would look best.
I’ve been working on a piece of limestone in sculpture class. My class went and cut up a giant chunk of it (the picture of my professor standing on part of it during a demo) Then using a hammer and chisel I made it round. Before thanksgiving I leave it sitting in sculpture with a giant hole in it. (Before the final sanding and polishing)
