BE MORE CHILL : ALICE BY HEART MATCHMAKER
OKAY. So I know a lot of y’all in the Tumblr universe love Be More Chill with a passion (And believe me, I do too…check back on my posts– I’ve been following that guy since it was at Two River) but I wanted to make sure y’all know of this other musical I am in love with at the moment—
(THAT’S RIGHT, THERE IS A CAST RECORDING, BABY!! It literally came out YESTERDAY.)
ANYWAYS– This show was at New York Stage and Film last summer (Where shows like Hamilton, Head Over Heels, Secret Life of Bees, and many others have gotten their start) and was Off- Broadway this past winter for a short run at MCC.
First off, This cast is STACKED– Molly Gordon (BOOKSMART) plays Alice…. then you’ve got Colton Ryan (DEAR EVAN HANSEN, GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY)…. Wesley Taylor (SPONGEBOB MUSICAL, SMASH)… Noah Galvin (BOOKSMART, DEAR EVAN HANSEN, WAITRESS), Grace McLean (GREAT COMET)….and so many more amazing talents. And it’s written by the same team that did SPRING AWAKENING….so all the songs definitely have major Spring Awakening vibes…plus the entire plot is about a girl coming of age and realizing what it means to grow up and go through life.
