We went to the library and I noticed an older man lounging in the teen area. There are signs above the teen area that say you must be a teenager to sit in there. I kept glaring at him and wouldn't leave the nearby area. A girl walked in, was browsing further away from him, but left before getting near. A boy walked in and told him about the sign, but he said it "was ok", and the boy sat next to him.

So I walked over to the older male librarian (in hopes the guy would listen to him) and told him about this. I left before anything was done, but old creeps will NOT take up space for children when I catch them doing it.

I know I'm caught in a bad insta algorithm when I start seeing posts about how massage therapists and yoga teachers should not be using "possessive language" like the phrases "my client" or "my student" because that implies ownership and hierarchy. I need to stop taking it personally when smart, creative women choose to have children. Many women actually want them, and I am the anomaly. But man. It sucks to see that reinforced all the time. I'm not saying mothers are disappointing to me, but rather I react to the outward sign that I am not a socially acceptable woman in many ways. That is only one of them. Same when smart, creative women shave their whole bodies, wear faces full of makeup, have traditional het weddings, or parrot talking points that show an uncharacteristic lack of analysis on their part. Like little betrayals! I will never be rewarded by society for being a good woman. Maybe this is good, but it is alienating, too.
