This 6% commission is usually split 4 ways -Between the buyers agents, sellers agent, and each of those agents brokers. 2) Once you choose your agent, your stuck. False. If you don’t have a pending offer and are still shopping the market, it’s very easy to change agents - regardless of the contracts you’ve signed. This goes for sellers too, if you’re not happy with their performance, ask to rescind your contract with them. 3) It’s ok for buyers to use the selling agent. Don’t fall for this! Selling agents are focused on one thing... Getting as high of an offer as possible. They are looking out for the sellers best interest, so if you see a home listed on Zillow, ask another agent to show the home to you. 4) One agent is just as good as the next. Nope. And this goes for agents with years of experience as well. Just because someone has been in the business for years does NOT mean they are your best bet. 5) You can’t buy a FSBO if you’re working with an agent. Also False!
