Since when perfect was the goal on earth? To the believer, perfect is not the goal.

If we believe that the (difficult) circumstances are in fact good, that the boundary lines have fallen in pleasant places somehow someway, we can lean into that.

I am my brother’s keeper.
I am my brother’s keeper. and my brother is mine. In this journey of life, I am not journeying alone. If I were to make it to heaven it is because my sisters and brothers helped me through. If they were to make it, I must help them through. I am not alone. We are not alone. I have the body of Christ, a family of believers which I am committed to and they are to me. Thus, in this journey of life, I am my brother’s keeper and my brother is mine.
I am my brother's keeper.

Give me your heart give me your song Sing it with all your might Come to the fountain and You can be satisfied There is a peace, there is a love You can get lost inside Come to the fountain and Let me hear you testify
Into the wild Canyons of youth Oh, there's a world to fall into Weightless we'll dance Like kids on the moon Oh, I will give myself to you As soon as you start to let go
Give me your heart give me your song Sing it with all your might Come to the fountain and You can be satisfied There is a peace, there is a love You can get lost inside Come to the fountain and Let me hear you testify
Wave after wave As deep calls to deep Oh, I'll reveal my mystery As soon as you start to let go
Give me your heart give me your song Sing it with all your might Come to the fountain and You can be satisfied There is a peace, there is a love You can get lost inside Come to the fountain and Let me hear you testify There is a peace, there is a love You can get lost inside Come to the fountain and Let me hear you testify
Mist on the mountain Rising from the ground There's no denying beauty makes a sound We can't escape it There's no way to doubt Mist on the mountain rising all around
Give me your heart give me your song Sing it with all your might Come to the fountain and You can be satisfied There is a peace, there is a love You can get lost inside Come to the fountain and Let me hear you testify There is a peace, there is a love You can get lost inside Come to the fountain and Let me hear you testify You can get lost inside
You can get lost inside Let me hear you testify You can get lost, you can get lost inside Let me hear you testify You can get lost, you can get lost inside Let me hear you testify
Thoughts on “I Am” by Influence Music
I am seated at Pies and Coffee located in Rochester Mall while writing this post with “I Am” playing on my Spotify. I have not returned to this place for more than a year already. Frequented this place with some of my girlfriends for Bible Study with a student studying in Singapore this time last year. But ever since Bible study was completed, never needed to come back here until today. She is back home in India now and I am just reflecting on how life has changed so much for her, for me and those around me just this past year - friends returning home, two semesters of school done, changes in family, friends planning to get married... the list can go on I promise.
So then, here comes an apt quote. Someone once said, “Change is the only constant”.
When I first heard it, every thing in me leaped in agreement and stood in awe of the profoundness of that statement at the same time. Couldn’t agree more I remember thinking.
But today as I am reflecting about life and all the changes that have taken place this past year, I can’t help but beg to differ. There is some truth to that, yes. But, it ain’t the ONLY constant because I have another constant in my life and that Constant has a name -Jesus.
How cliche you must be wondering. I know. But when life is a testament to that, there is no denying.
Just reflecting on the kind of changes, I really don’t think I’d be where I am today if not for my One Constant who has kept me, stayed true and faithful through all the changes of this unpredictable life - and of course, stayed Constant.
That is why I love this song by Influence music (see the previous post). It talks about how God is so many things for our different seasons. Seasons of life changes. But He never ever changes and stays the same - He’s the great I Am.
The coolest thing about God, He never needs to change. He is everything at once. We humans can only dream about that. Everything we need Him be, He is all of that at once. Hence, through various seasons different facets of God is brought out or we experience and learn of the different ways I Am wants to be known. That makes change so unnecessary for God, therefore, making Him that true Constant we need through the constant of change.
“In the valley, He is strength. In the battle, Victory. In the chaos, Peace. Desert, Only Drink. All in all, He is the Great I am.”
He will be the “I Am” (or He Is) you need Him to be in any season of our life - the one Constant.
Exodus 3:14 (KJV) “And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am...” in reply to Moses’ question about His identity.
The I Am from the beginning of time is THE Only Constant that supersedes the other constant- change- by defying the terms of what change is even. He runs through the thread of life from the beginning of time until the end of age without needing any change to meet man back then and now, as He exists holding time in His hands.
Thus, making the Great I am the Only Constant through the constant of change.
In the dark, when I feel like we’re worlds apart I remember that I'm in Your heart with You You’re all I’ve got, if I really had to count the cost Not a second or a minute is lost with You
Pre-Chorus You never ever change, You’re the great I Am You always stay the same and I won’t forget
Chorus When I'm empty, You overflow In the wreckage, Your word is gold In the valley, You are my strength In the battle, my victory In the chaos, You are my peace In the desert, my only drink Fearless I’ll take a stand My God is the great I Am Verse 2 You are light, You illuminate and give me life I can see the sparkle in Your eyes for me In the night when I’m broken I will fix my eyes You’re defender and You win the fight for me
Bridge No kingdom, no power, no ruler can stand before the great I Am No army, no weapon, no evil can stand before the great I Am No kingdom, no power, no ruler can stand against the great I Am No army, no weapon, no evil, can stand against the great I Am No sickness, no pain, no depression can stand against No hunger, no fear, no injustice can stand against No kingdom, no power, no ruler can stand against the great I Am
As I was listening to my old CDs, this song played and I got reminded how much I loved this song and how apt that I came across it now when I am in the midst of studying the book of Revelation for my bible school like class. I wonder what it’d be like to stand face to face with the God whom have seen me through my entire life. My heart cannot comprehend neither can it phantom.
When The Wind Blows
[Verse 1:] Night turns to daylight and things are quite the same You wake up and make up another days routine Then the sun begins to shine as if the face of God were near And the trumpets sound is played as if all the world could hear [Chorus:] That's the day when the wind blows That’s the day the earth begins to move When the lion and the lamb start walking two by two That's the day when the wind blows When the sky is torn in two And the Lord of Lords and all his glory comes for you Ohh when the wind blows. [Verse 2:] Beside you behind me believers on their knees And somehow you know now everyone you see So hand in hand you fly away to meet Him in the sky This man that you have dreamed about, He's right before your eyes [Chorus:] That's the day when the wind blows That's the day the earth begins to move When the lion and the lamb start walking two by two that's the day when the wind blows When the sky is torn in two And the Lord of Lords in all his glory comes for you ohh when the wind blows [Chorus #2:] That's the day when the wind blows When the earth begins to move When the lion and the lamb start walking two by two When the wind blows When the sky is torn in two And the Lord of Lords in all his glory comes for you Ohh when the wind blows, when the wind blows. Be swept away, be swept away.
Surrendering to the will of God
It's the place I call the great exchange
On your knees Laying out LAYING them down
Dreams Hopes Aspirations Desires Crowns Titles Rights Whatever it may be It's the act of putting in out there with transparency and not withholding
As they are all laid out on the altar the great exchange takes place
When His dreams become our dreams His hopes our hope His desires ours His aspirations our heartbeat His will ours
A place of tears to give up what we want For an exchange of what matters
The seemingly painful death of me and my selfishness For an exchange of selflessness
An altar of struggles and sacrifice which is not sacrifice at all sometimes
It's the lifting of my eyes from me, now and my life to see Him and His will in the light of His kingdom and eternity
His will at any cost Eternity is too long

I've walked among the shadows
You wiped my tears away
And I've felt the pain of heartbreak
And I've seen the brighter days
And I've prayed prayers to heaven from my lowest place
And I have held Your blessings God
You give and take away
No matter what I have, Your grace is enough
No matter where I am, I'm standing in Your love
(chorus)
On the mountains I will bow my life to the One who set me there
In the valley I will lift my eyes to the One who sees me there
When I'm standing on the mountain I didn't get there on my own
When I'm walking through the valley I know I am not alone
You're God of the hills and valleys, hills and valleys
God of the hills and valleys And I am not alone
I've watched my dreams get broken
In You I hope again
No matter what I know I'm safe inside Your hands
(chorus)
Father, You give and take away
Every joy and every pain
Through it all You will remain over it all
On the mountains I will bow my life In the valley I will lift my eyes
(chorus)
And I will choose to say Blessed be Your name
And I am not alone
