Asobi Seksu - Walk On The Moon
Asobi Seksu is a dream pop band which formed in 2004 in New York City, New York, United States. The band consists of Yuki Chikudate (vocals, keyboards), James Hanna (guitar, vocals), Billy Pavone (bass) and Larry Gorman (drums). The band’s name in Japanese consists of two words, “asobi” meaning “play” or “for fun”, and “sekkusu” the Japanese transliterated word for “sex”. Their sound has been said to draw influence from the shoegazing movement of the late 1980s to early 1990s, which was coined to describe the textured and effects-heavy sound of alternative rock in that era.
I’m getting lost in your curls I’m drawing pictures on your skin, so soft it twirls I like your looks when you get mean I know I shouldn’t say so but when you claw me like a cat I’m beaming
It's cold again
Outside something howls inside the wind
My stockpile pile high
Every burner on the stove glowing red
Save Yourself friend (Save yourself)
That's the best I can give, save yourself
It's letters I never sent
Jumbles of yesterday's packed on pages like storage spaces and basements
They called like "Come now, he doesn't have long to live" (You should probably hurry)
I dress slowly
Came back that night and took my baby out the crib so I could hold him
I know it can slip away slow, yo, you can lose it all in a moment
Stirring the soup 'round in the roux, couple things roasting
Crack a window open let the cold in, again
The trees re-threaded gold, the sign said "Repent"
I had to let it all go so I could live in my head, again
Ransacking my mind but something hiding in the vents, ductwork, or worse
Something died in the walls like a church
Locked doors never had a key but you test the handle occasionally
God forbid it swing open
Attic stairs broken, don't go up there (Don't!)
From the windows I watch the diggers disappear in soft wet earth
Dinner served, I waited for my guests, long table set

It’s not that you’re not good enough It’s just that we can make you better Given that you pay the price We can keep you young and tender Following in the footsteps of a funeral pyre You were paid not listen now your house is on fire Wake me up when things get started When everything starts to happen
