zae looks up from said worrying, picking at the skin around their nails and shredding the skin on her lips at the same time. sire speaks right after she's made her lip bleed, holding her lip in her mouth as she looks up at him in bewilderment.

"champ?" she repeats with confusion, not understanding the nickname. it takes another few seconds for the rest of it to catch up with her exhausted brain. "ha, i'd love to sleep, but i can't. i got a nap earlier, anyway."

a nap, but it was only twenty minutes of dozing. the dark circles under her eyes don't lie.
