Quicksilver party, Torquay
Group Ludic, founded 1968, Paris, France
Incredibly imaginative designs from the French designers of the Ludic Group in the 1960s. There is a thorough architectural analysis of these rounded play spaces. An opportunity to hide, providing children with freedom. Designs that provide a democratic solution, as children can roam independently. Spaces that join together to develop happy accidents of natural collisions. There are fewer unpredetermined play behaviours and more social interactions as spheres connect and multiple pathways intersect.
Zones for making and caring.
Process for elevation oblique drawing technique. Angles are at 60 degrees from the horizontal. The receding lines are at half their scaled length.
Quick sketches and diagrams that speculate design for desired makerspace activities and behaviours. For makers who are big and small.
A continued response to the quote “ Making anything for yourself is a political act” by Zeke Leonard.

Spatially Augmented Arrays
My installation at the exhibition is a work in progress, an iteration of what I would hope to become immaterial architecture for the entire hackerspace room. Experimenting with the perception of space, my spatially augmented projector arrays blend projections onto one another creating a virtual scene.
As you can see in this poster visualisation, the perception of depth to the ceiling is greater than the actual ceiling itself. Visualisations of forms onto surfaces that convex and concave challenge the senses into believing that there is in fact no floor or the ceiling is higher than normal.
Collaboration with Media Lab Melbourne
Within a hackerspace, there is an opportunity to experiment, share, engage, break to make and collaborate. With the diversity of skill and thought, fellow hackers inspire each other to create and iterate designs. Being hyperconnected, our habitual behaviour with devices and internet connectivity has evolved us into a digital world of social interactivity. Online, open source communities and forums allow users equality in the sharing of information and knowledge. There is no hierarchy, but an applied etiquette where users collectively listen to one another and offer support or advice. Through open source software, users are invited to play and invent. Using Pure Data or Pd, a real time programming application for audio, video and graphical processing, I was able to discover multiple possibilities through experimentation.
Visualisations created using Pd, Pure Data Extended software
I produced and filmed this documentary style of film that brings light to architecture designed for an event held in a public space. Our group based Interior Architecture studio from Monash University, constructed furniture and installations made from materials found at the Queen Victoria Market. The film shows process of construction with both students and tutors. The outcome was a dinner organised at the market where each furniture piece and installation was displayed in a performative way to industry guests.
Hi, my name is Brooke and I am currently studying 4th year Interior Architecture full-time at Monash University. I have also been running my own photography business for the last three years. I have proficiency in a range of design software including Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, CAD and 3ds Max. I am passionate about people and I actively participate in a team.
Looking to hire? I am currently seeking work in a design firm. Please take a look at my online folio...
Fiat / Chrysler Interior Architecture Competition, 2013
Team: Jessica Stephenson, Brooke Galloway & Widhi Hastuti
This project was designed for a competition proposed by FIAT/Chrysler to renovate the reception and waiting area of the Melbourne office.
Cube Cloud was developed from a list of precedents, namely Sou Fujimoto’s Serpentine Pavillion. This Pavillion uses straight rigid lines to form something billowing and organic. The design’s transparency blends it into its surrounds.
The idea explores the repetition of the cube toward the formation of a complex cloud structure. This cloud transforms the space, through illusion and plays on perspective. Taking existing geometries from the floor, the structure extends them upwards while playing with scale and transparency of the cube.
