“I prefer the classics. I couldn’t care less about the new stuff they’ve put out.” She hung up the phone without saying goodbye. Brooklyn new he would probably talk for another 30 minutes about how he was right before he realized she’d hung up. “Well there’ll never be a better cast than the classic one, that’s for sure.” Logan mostly agreed with the woman’s opinion, aside from the fact that she did like the latest new films. “Have you seen any of the new stuff though?”

Brooklyn shrugged. “I like the new stuff just fine, but it doesn’t feel quite the same. I haven’t seen Rogue One at all, and I’m not really planning to.” When it came to most movies, Brooklyn was more about the scenery than the story, she always had been. She loved the movies, she watched as much as she could, even the one she wasn’t sure she would like, but she loved the aesthetics more than most of the dialogue nowadays. “It just doesn’t feel... as epic. If that makes sense.”

For the actor, it was easy to get caught up in his own little world where and everything he was doing. He went through the motions of the day but unless you were involved in some interaction that had anything to do with his world, then, pretty much you got radio silence. Even now sitting in the middle of the coffee shop, he barely recognized people around him completely focused on the stack of papers in front of him. He has wound as tight as a string about ready to snap. It just so happened to come in a serious of unfortunate accidents starting with his cellphone suddenly going off with David Bowie’s ‘Just Dance’. It was all downhill from there because he jumped, his knee knocked in the table earning a dropped ‘Fuck’ at the sudden shot of pain that then made his hand jerk away on the table in an attempt to rub his knee, which of course, ended up with his hand knocking over the coffee cup he hand on the table. That coffee cup was still half full (or half empty) didn’t matter, it still spilled all over the table onto that stack of paper he had been reading and into his lap. Yep, pretty much, that was how his entire week had been going.

While in line to get her much needed coffee -- black, no cream and one sugar -- Brooklyn scrolled through her phone. Her assistant sent her a location to check out and she was checking the GPS to see where it was and how long it would take. She figured she could hit it on her way to the gym and not waste any time. The line moved and Brooklyn looked up to see how many people were in front of her; five. She turned her head, looking around the coffee shop. She was always in such a rush to get in and get out she didn’t realize how quaint the place was. She was taking in the decor when she saw someone’s cup tip over and fall in their lap. Well, that seemed a bit unfortunate. Turning her gaze back to the quickly dwindling line, she stepped up to the counter and ordered two medium coffees, paying and taking her cups to the table with the man she’d just witnessed sharing his coffee with his lap. “I don’t make a habit of buying strangers coffee, but that was a pretty nasty spill and I can sympathize. Sorry about your papers.” She set a cup in front of him -- well, not directly, he did just spill his last cup -- and took a sip of her own.

“I don’t know. I don’t have Tinder.” Brooklyn’s tone was always so flat. And there were times when she would try to adjust it, but it was a natural response.

“Woah, wait, I was just having this conversation with someone the other day.” Sure interrupting someone wasn’t the best course of action, but somehow this was the first mention of Star Wars Logan had heard all day and she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to involve herself. “How do you feel about the prequels?” 

Brooklyn was in an important, heated discussion on her phone with her cousin about Star Wars; comparing and contrasting old versus new. Her cousin was all about new. He tended to be materialistic and a bit pompous, so they butted heads a lot about everything. He preferred all the new movies because it had better graphics. Her eyes cut over to where someone was interrupting, and usually she’d find it rude and say so, but she was happy for any reason to end the conversation with her cousin. “I prefer the classics. I couldn’t care less about the new stuff they’ve put out.” She hung up the phone without saying goodbye. With her leather-bound portfolio held tightly in her clutches, Harlow took quick strides down the crowded sidewalk. She had just gotten out of a meeting with a branding company–that she was late to– and her nerves were still on edge. So when the heel of her black suede pump gave out from beneath her, splitting clean off the shoe, Harlow went with it. “Shit—,” she cursed with a sharp intake of breath as her hand and knees met the concrete, her sketches scattering before her. Accepting her defeat, the brunette sighed and dusted off her pencil skirt as she stood up. This is what she got for trying too hard to land a deal she didn’t even want. Quickly attempting to collect all of her papers, she silently prayed that they were all still in tact. Just then, Harlow suddenly became very aware of the bystander before her. Perfect. “Feel free to pretend that you did not just witness that catastrophe.”

Brooklyn was on her way to give a presentation so she could book her train ticket to the location. Her job, thankfully, lent her free range of wardrobe. She dressed comfortably in sneakers, shorts, and a tank top. Her phone kept buzzing in her pocket and she was trying to ignore it because she knew who it was and didn’t really feel the need to deal with it at this particular moment, but the buzzing was incessant and her nerves were on their last leg. Fishing the phone out of her pocket, she swiped to read the many messages on her screen, she was hastily replying when she caught a a glimpse of someone mid-fall. Her head snapped towards the sight and she watched the woman’s heel snap, body falling to the ground. She made her way over, picking up papers as she got closer. “I don’t think anyone within eye shot missed that.” Her tone was flat, something she didn’t do on purpose. "But if it’s any consolation, I’m pretty sure everyone’s taken a nasty, public fall before.”
