The Holiday is officially here, and it is a fabulous time to be in New York City to immerse yourself in the quintessential NYC holiday moments. I do not remember how I stumbled on her Instagram. As I browsed her feed, I was intrigued by snippets of her blog posts. And although I do not have young children, the excerpts of her posts were not only exciting but relatable. Several days later, I poured myself a glass of wine and visited Mommylogue.blog. I was blown away by her stories. They were about her experiences as a mom, but they were so much more. Some of the things she wrote about were relatable; others gave me that aha moment, while others made me contemplate. She is affectionately known as Elle DoubleU Pepper on Instagram, and it is also her gracious signature on Mommylogue.blog. Still, Lindsey Whiting-Schnepper is a 40 something real-life mommy documenting mommyhood in all its glory and glamour (or not-so-glamorous moment). A bachelorâs degree graduate from Hofstra University and a dual Masterâs Degree graduate from New York University. What started as a therapeutic exercise for Lindsey and a way to document milestones and memories of her boysâ lives have blossomed into something raw, honest, at times messy, beautiful accounts of true mommyhood. Cheers to the end of this chapter. This note ( sent to me by a friend--I donât know who wrote it) and this video by @mainamind pretty much sums up my message for the final day of the year. But as I sit on the floor of my kitchen in sincere Gratitude for the people who were kind and compassionate towards me when I needed it the most this year. Those who took the time to call or text encouraging words of comfort when I felt lost or worst than Iâve felt in my life⌠I am so grateful. But I also want to express gratitude for those who treated me unkindly, the ones that werenât compassionate, the ones I thought would have been there for me, the ones who made me feel worst when I was at my lowest Iâm equally grateful for you because you have shown me exactly who you are but even more importantly Who I Am⌠and for that I am so grateful So at midnight when we gently walk into 2022 remember to be grateful for every blessing that comes your way in 2022 â our blessings comes as a beautiful experiences, kind people, new opportunities but they also come in teaching moments. đĽ to 2022 â May it be everything you wish for and so much more.
