Intellectually, Tony knows the difference between right and wrong. He loves his family and his wife. He’d be devastated if anything ever happened to Carmela. When he tells her he’s not going to cheat anymore, he probably believes it. But he can’t help but feed his own appetites, so he goes out and fucks some girl and then feels guilty. Then the guilt gets turned into something else - anger, depression - and it becomes a constant battle. I mean, he’s had to kill his best friend, Pussy. He’s killed his friend’s son. He’s killed his cousin. He’s always got to worry about who may put a bullet in his head. There’s a lot of baggage there. A lot of fucking baggage.
