Let’s be honest, if it was about hunger they would have just killed her right then and there. The deal, biting her, smacking her around, that’s not the action of a starving vampire. That’s a cat batting a mouse around like a toy. Same with her confrontation with Scott. He didn’t even bother fighting back.

Pyro’s case is a little different. Yes, he’s treating her like a lamb to the slaughter, but… when you’re chased down and ripped apart in the woods, left to die a slow, painful death, a gun to the head looks like mercy. It’s quick. It’s painless. It’s better to accept it, when fighting only prolongs the pain and suffering.

They don’t want her to suffer like they did.

as much as apo sparing shelby in the finale during their bat fight is a really compelling story beat, someone getting staked mid-air is metal as fuck and I think we could think about a world where apo did kill shelby there. permanently.
