Given that 90% of Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland is made up of Lewis Caroll roasting the mathematics department at Oxford for their fixation on the improbably abstract and passing it off as a bedtime story, one could argue that the book is a work of science fiction rather than fantasy.
More importantly though, one could also argue that the most faithful possible adaptation would probably involve a 20 page out-of-narrative rant where Erwin Scrödinger sarcastically explains to his daughter the finer points of feline toxicology and necromancy
