ProTip - Create a Stylebook!
When I was learning studio photography, one of the most valuable pieces of advice I received was to create a Stylebook - a folder of images that I love. Whether it be food, product, portraits or even multi media projects, it’s important to know what you like, and to have something to refer to when you’re seeking inspiration.
All of the photographs above were specifically modeled after images in my Stylebook. They were assignments for school, where I had to find images I love and recreate them in the studio. The project made me look at commercial and portrait photography in a completely different way. The most important lesson I learned was that I could do it. I could take these images and make my own versions - and that professional photography was absolutely NOT out of my grasp.
What images do you love? How can you make them your own?
