    "Curious? Most people would be rather frightened..."     This girl seemed like she liked to talk. And talk fast.     Maybe she talked so much she didn't hear what      other humans had to say about their 'beloved' boxtrolls.     "Uh, yeah, that's right. I'm a boxtroll. Just a different      kind of boxtroll I suppose. How would you know what       a troll even looks like?"

“Wha-   Excuse me for asking this   question but what in the world is a box troll?    Are they trolls in boxes?   I dunno.”

    "It's funny because you      are exactly correct.      That is what we are. Is      it a bit too obvious with       the name we've got?"

          “You’re not a…?” The child’s words are            spoken so casually, as if his appearance            clearly answers the question. Flashing an            awkward smile, he simply nods along,            humoring him. “Alright-y then. Well,            I stopped here because I’m out of water.            I think I have some apple juice?” A            frown. “But that’s probably not terrifically            sanitary…here, why don’t I just show you?”

          Fetching a pick from his pocket, he strums            the instrument carelessly, plucking at the            various chords erratically until adjusting to            a rhythm and whistling along. Noticing the            boy’s expression brighten with awe, the            Once-ler starts to wrap his mind around his            claim. Has he really never seen a guitar            before? It’s certainly hard to believe since            they’re so wildly common—in most cultures.

          “—Okay, ho-o-old up a minute,” he interrupts            with a scoff, fingers going limp and ceasing            the music. “You’re joking with me, right? I            mean, c’mon. You know what this is.”

     Eggs was about to ask what the man was going      to say, but he seemed to let go of the thought.       Eggs decided to do just the same. Might as well      not make things complicated, as he wouldn't have      been able to understand it anyways.       The young boxtroll frowned when he heard there      wasn't anything to wash his hands with. In that       moment for the first time in his life he wished he      was a little bit more clean. That was impossible       for boxtrolls, really. However, he was happy enough      to just watch the man fiddle with the contraption.            He had been so excited he stepped back a bit to      watch the whole thing be put together. He had       many ideas as to what this thing would do, yet just      as the man began to make it work, Eggs couldn't      believe what he was seeing. Rather than seeing,      hearing! He made music with Fish all the time, but      this was so new! He lifted up his goggles, his face      full of shock and amusement.       "That's.... that's amazing!" Eggs called out over the       sound, clapping his hands for the man. He waited       for the man to stop playing to say another compliment       that wasn't a yell. "Incredible. Unlike I've ever seen!"      Yet the other seemed confused as to why Eggs was      so enchanted by his possession. "Well, no human       has ever thrown one out, so my family and I haven't      taken one or seen on. What's it even called? Is the      purpose only to make music?

         “—— What’s a boxtroll? And why are you even wearing a box?”

               ( well. now he knows not to go wandering around sketchy areas anymore. )

    "A boxtroll is a boxtroll, which is why I happen to be      wearing this box," he tapped on his chest-- er, box.       "What are you doing here? Humans never find our       home. Did you follow one of us back here?"

___✒ "What?" she shook her head "No, no, you’re human, just because you’re wearing a box, doesn’t make you a boxtroll. I mean, I’m wearing a dress but that doesn’t make me a dresstroll or whatever.” she explained.

Winnie motioned to the mess of dark hair on his head. “If you are a boxtroll, why do you have a full head of hair, like me, and not just little tufts like most trolls, hm? And, why are you so tall? You’re taller than me even.”

    "No way! Humans.... I would never be one of them! I've been with the boxtrolls my whole life. I don't think I've ever met a human other than you before." Eggs scratched the back of his head, laughing at the girls words. She was ridiculous. "Dresstrolls? There are dresstrolls? Never heard of those. But if I haven't heard of them it's probably for good reason. They wouldn't get along with us very well, no."    She pointed out what every boxtroll ever did on him. Eggs' hand lifted to touch his messy brown hair, running his four fingers through it "I'm just disfigured is all! My family tells me that all the time. And that's not an issue at all! I'm just disfigured, and so are some other humans, aren't they?"

"Well does it count that my shell is my box because I usually hide in there all the time." Leo shrugs. "Yeah, mutants are like um animals but their different. I don’t really know how to explain it really, and thanks I’m a ninja turtle." 

"Oh my name is Leonardo, but call me Leo for short. Let me take a guess on what your name is, um Eggs right?" He was looking at the male’s box, since he was called a box troll he assumed they were named after what the box was saying.

"Don’t worry if my brothers saw you…" He paused. "You might never want to meet them, please. For you and your family’s safety."

    "Well, boxtrolls do hide in their boxes but i've never seen one with a shell before. What is that thing anyways?" Eggs took a step forward to see it, yet hesitated. It wouldn't be good to get any closer when he didn't know who this was. "Animals? Like dogs and cats and such? That's pretty strange, really. We've got a cat with us but it doesn't talk or anything like you do. Are all animals mutant or something?"     Eggs beamed when they were able to guess his name right away. He put his hands on his hips and puffed out his chest as if he were proud to be Eggs, the boxtroll. "That's right! Easy guess, huh? Leonardo's a pretty nice name there. Haven't heard of that one before. Most of us boxtrolls are just named after the box we've got on."     At the other's comment on his own family, Eggs head tilted, his smile vanishing. "What doya mean? If he's your family he's gotta be like you, right? You seem kind enough."

Already folded edges are fiddled with absentmindedly as she speaks, brown orbs flicking back && forth between the paper && the boy.

                     Obviously, it was  just  a  piece  of  paper  that                      she had folded and written on  in  crayon,  but                       he didn’t seem to know that && so she stayed                       quiet about it.

             ’Of course you want  to  know  that  super  important               stuff because it’s super important. Okay, all you               gotta do is pick a color, a  name,  a  place,  and  four                numbers. Easy, right ?’

        "Nah, humans are just weird in general.          Anything related to them in my opinion          are. However the stuff they have can          be interesting at times, so I guess that          includes that fortune tellin' thingy-ma-         bobber you've got there, yeah?" Eggs watches as the girls begins to mess around with the paper as if she already knows what she's  doing, an expert in her field. He  found this funny, as if he was given a sheet of paper he wouldn't know what to do on it. He could build things just fine just like any other boxtroll, but that? He would never thing to... fortune tell.             "Well that is the definition of 'super important',          correct?" He laughed in response, leaning in          closer to see what she was doing. "That sounds...          too easy. There isn't a catch, is there?"

 ◌◌◌  [ℋ ❀ ℒ]                             "Well, it’s just the name of the city - but                            really it’s two words combined. San Francisco                            and Tokyo. This city is kind of a.. mix of the                            two of those cities!”

            Honey rubbed her arm slightly, and lightly             bit down on her bottom lip. “Well, I’m happy             to help you however I can! Where were you             trying to go, exactly..?”

    "Uh, sorry to say I'm only familiar with the      town of Cheesebridge. Nevah' heard of       those places, nope. They supposed to be      famous or sumthin'?"      At the girl's question, Eggs squinted his      eyes and began to turn his head. He hoped      for the sight of anything that was at least      slightly familiar. "Well I'm lookin' for my home,      Cheesebridge, like I said."

   "Sorry to say I 'avent' even got a clue     as to what a country is. Is that like a      town or something, a bit smaller? I've     heard of a town before, yeah."        People could assume the boy was      kidding, but the look on his face was     of pure innocent ignorance.

"…. Yeah, I guess," Damian hand, previously gripped to the other in a normally firm fashion, slackened fairly quickly into the shake. 

He never was the best at social cues. And thus, he hoped his own cue would be taken as a desire to have his hand released as soon as possible.

"… Damian, Damian Wayne," the child’s voice was near monotone as he answered, the words coming on near instinct. Introductions may have been the only thing he had gotten used to already; and already gotten beyond sick of.

     "Yeah, I don't really understand human ways either,"       Eggs laughed in reply. With the boy not knowing how       people really acted, his handshake was a bit strange.       Even after shaking he left his hand there, unsure of       when to let go. The thought of being stuck together       forever frightened him.     "Hey, cheer up fool! You sound so sad," he laughed.      There was a hint of nervousness in Egg's voice as       he stared at their hands. He was very worried now.      "Uh, do tell me. When are we supposed to let go?"

MUN UPDATE

hi guys! as you can tell i haven't been extremely active as of late. i've got a lot of school stuff going on considering this is my second to last year of high school. i guess this has been a bit of a hiatus?

however, i start winter break next week! so i'm here to tell you all i'll be getting to your replies. under the read more i'm going to tag everyone who's replies i'll be getting to when i can. if you don't see your name, please message me! i'll also try putting some starters out there. i'm gonna try to be super active over the break! i want to get on all of my blogs and even start a new one since i've got the time :)

Damian’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked over the other boy, before reaching for the outstretched hand with a sigh.

"A… true pleasure.”

    "Even if you don't mean it, yeah?"            Eggs laughed loudly, shaking the boy's      hand excitedly. Meeting humans now       was just so fun! Now that he knew they      all weren't too bad, things were getting      easier.     "I'm Eggs! Who are you?"

           Aiko peered at the boy in complete bafflement, furrowing            her eyebrows. What was he doing down a man-hole?            Uncertain, she tucked some hair behind her ear.

                 ”..Are you okay? Do you need some help?”

    "San Fransokyo? What on Earth is that? Those      words roll off the tongue so strange." Eggs raised an eyebrow at the girl, beginning to pull himself out of the hole. He shook his  head at her question, standing himself up straight.    "Not with getting out of the hole, no. I did that myself,     see? However, I think I might need some help...     navigating? Yes, that. Human cities are so confusing."
