I was looking for a notepad in my room earlier to do some writing, I look into my drawer and I find a black notebook back from Christmas of 2007 with quotes and sayings from my Mother and my Step Father. I read through them all, most of what they've written down I have come to realize, some things I am starting to understand, and others I am still learning.
90% of this book is still empty, and I didn't want to just write my thoughts in it; I didn't want to make it a music book/lyric book/book of dreams I had. One thing I have been doing over the past few years is saving quotes, sayings, inspirational messages and pictures to my computer (which I never go back and look at) from fan pages/friends/family. I decided to continue on with this book and start writing down all of these sayings.
This one immediately stood out to me. I have a horribly hard time covering up how I feel, because I believe it is so ridiculous to do so. I have some incredible times, and I have some bad times, and if I front that I feel the same way every day then I am only lying to myself. "Fake it until you make it" can cover much broader topics, but I also feel that it implies that what others think of you truly matters, when it honestly doesn't.
Applying this more to myself and my profession, "Real it until you feel it" makes much more sense. I used to want to be famous and be an incredible singer/songwriter, which I still do, but there is no true value in being famous for the sake of being famous. Being famous or being the best singer/songwriter would be a luxury, but these two things have no worth without reason; a reason of inspiring someone to be their best self, which you can't do if you're telling someone to "Fake it."
