i was staring at the ceiling of our hotel room while iu's palette was softly playing from the bluetooth speaker. i subtly sang along. i giggled thinking of all the moments i had with him on this trip. today was the last day before heading back to our busy lives.
the beep of the room door interrupted my thoughts indicating someone is coming in.
"good day ma'am. you ordered from room service?" he said pretending he was an employee.
"yes. i ordered a cute, fluffy and dimpled guy." i said and chuckled.
"well then, here i am." he said then proceeded to flop on the bed.
he stayed like that for a few seconds and sneakily wrapped his arms around my torso, pulling me in closer.
"i have loved every second i had with you for the past 2 weeks. i just wish we could stay like this forever." he said almost whispering.
"why don't you clean up first and we could talk about any topic you want?" i said while squishing his face.
"i'm too lazy to get up again but fine." he groaned and slowly got up.
whenever i lie alone in bed, since the day i met him, it always seemed incomplete now. i yearned for his warmth and presence.
i decided to check on him and watched how he did his nighly routine. his face is so perfect and unreal. can you believe he's mine?
"i know i'm good looking love but i might melt if you keep staring at me like that." he said while splashing me with water.
"jaehyun!! it's cold in here. splashing me with water just made it worse" i said pretending to be annoyed.
"oh. i'm sorry love. i'll just hug you extra tight later."
this guy, i swear. i went back to the bed and scrolled through my phone. i looked at all the pictures we took here in LA. we look so happy and complete. and we are. hearts full and souls filled with peace.
i then looked up and saw him watching frank ocean videos on youtube. he was listening intently and was singing along. he was sitting on the chair beside the window. the sun was about to set. can this view get any better? i decided to snap a picture. he noticed and as i was to take another, he flashed a smile with those famous dimples of his.
i love him. whatever he does, i just fall in love with him more and more everyday.
please me started playing. he stood up and started dancing along to the music.
he was wiggling his eyebrows and smiling mischievously at this point. i threw a pillow at him.
"jung jaehyun! i thought we were going to talk?"
"ok ok." he laughed and turned down the music.
we just stared at each other for a good minute when he suddenly spoke up.
"i love you." he said while sitting down on the floor, his chin on the palm of his hands and cutely smiling.
i felt my heart sink because i knew this was the last time i was gonna hear this.
"i love you too. so much. and i just wanna tell you how genuinely happy i am for the past 2 weeks and at this very moment. you are my everything, jaehyun. you make me feel important and worthy to be loved." i said everything i wanted to get off my chest.
"i'm glad. but after this trip.... what happens to us?"
"we stay happy. we continue to live our lives. make every moment memorable... with other people." i said sadly smiling
he climbed onto the bed and faced me.
"i'm sorry." that was all he could say. we both know we couldn't do anything.
"please don't be. this is already hard for the both us. can we at least just pretend this won't end?"
"why did it have to be you? why did it have to be you that i had to just fall deeply in love with?" he sounded frustrated.
"i feel the same jaehyun. but life isn't exactly fair. being in a relationship will break you. it will drag you down from your career. i don't ever want that to happen to you and knowing that i'm the reason, i would never forgive myself. you've worked so hard to get where you are now." i said while tearing up.
he moved closer and kissed my tear away.
"i promise you. one day i will come back for you and i hope on that day, you'll still love me like i love you. i will fight for you. mark my words."
"i will never stop loving you."
we cuddled the whole night with heavy hearts afraid of our end tomorrow.
but i know someday we will be as happy as we are right now. and no one can stop us.
