tragic discovery, maomao sounds like a prepubescent boy and the dialogue is a weird mix of english + my native tongue (makes sense because some of these words don't exist in my language) that switches so sometimes uses english and sometimes not english for the same thing? Then the pronunciations are not consistent so sometimes it's confusing if she's saying something in english or a similar word in my language.
Also the dialogue is so not maomao? Like i do not feel like this maomao is the one i know, if this had truly been my first time watching knh, i would not be so obsessed as i am. This dub would not have me spending every waking minute trying to read the 2 mangas, light novels, web novels and the spinoff. I think i would have never even watched the entirety of the show or episode 1 even.
I'm sad but hey i'll watch this if it means they'll fund more dubs in the future + i know i love this story so maybe it'll get better later.
