this came to me like divine epiphany and i had to drop everything and draw him real quick

II would tuck Vessel's lovey into his hands/to his neck when he wakes up in the night and feels that it's drifted away from him and ended up between them. even if he doesn't open his eyes, he guides it back to where it belongs

II also loves to gently pull the lovey lower with two fingers, so he can kiss Vessel on the lips. he rights it afterward, so Vessel can have it where he likes to feel it against the lower half of his face. there's something about the intimacy of being trusted not only to see it but to touch it. and there's also the times when II's lying on his back with Vessel beside him kneading his lovey that's on II's chest, all safe, right over his heart, and Vessel leans down for a kiss only to feel II reach for his hand to hold where it's resting on his comfort item

Y'all are not ready for this.

Started as a joke in April 2024 or so. Took my sweet sweet time with it.

The old sketch featured the TMBTE costumes, and that was kinda tedious to draw. When EIA came around, people suggested I put the new outfits on II, III and IV. I liked the idea because 1) more drapery and 2) more visual cohesiveness.

It's what I call a milestone piece because I had to make tens of other paintings to be able to finish it. You see, I always have ideas far, far above my skill level.

It's also full of renaissance symbolism. It makes sense if you really squint. I hope the ghost of Botticelli won't haunt me for this. Will light a candle in his honor tonight.
